yeah jb usually are good.. they're having a stocktake sale at the moment, so maybe they've only got the old stock that they're selling off before stocktake..
hence why all the sony explod gear is all that's left..
autobarn is having 25% off audio gear (inc pioneer) this week so i'll check out what they've got.

which one did you go to?
what i have done in the past is send emails to all the stores (i do this with electrical goods) and see who gives me the best price... try and see if 1 jb gives a better price than another, and because they are the same company, they match other stores quotes

the kedron one is ok, but not the best. the best i found was at capalaba (which sucks for us northsiders - i'm at chermside)

they seem to be having a 25% of just about everything sale.. there was a flyer in the courier mail on saturday... but they specifically mentioned pioneer stuff on the front.

well i don't mind pioneer.. have had a few pioneer home setups before and always been good. So this might be my chance to pick up some stuff.
I'm guessing this is a run out of last years stock but 25% off is good

yeah i like pioneer too.. would be quite content with an all pioneer setup..
although now i'm torn between my first step of stereo upgrade.. do i do front speakers first or HU first??!?!? hmmmn

My brother has 2 pioneer units, a 4150 and a 4450? and they have never steered us wrong. Friend in his SP20 has the silver faced (dolphin one) 8350? He also replaced the stock fron 5x7's (not sure if the actual speaker area is 4x6" but might be thinking of a SSS pulsar front. He replaced them with the Boston 5x7's (FS50? or FS60's??) and they sound great.
He's now running 2 x 10" sounstream subs in a 6th order bandpass box (6th order cause of the 2 subs). Sounds very nice, but I did like his 2 x 12" Cerwin Vega 'Vega series' subs in his big ported box when running off 800+WRMS. Very boomy though, hahaha...
Anyways, happy installing... I've done more than a few big installs, the best parts always the satisfaction of cranking it after u have installed it yourself.

Yeah I am still hanging out for the weekend so I can get to autobarn and check out this 25% off pioneer gear.. depending on what's available i plan to buy either a headunit or front speakers when i'm there. I was hoping to find a HU that will do mp3, but I'm thinking as long as it'll take cd-rw then i can manage. Am also thinking that I will just take the plunge and buy some 6inchs for the front and do some remodelling.. if i get in over my head i'm sure i can find help to bail me out

there are a few good but cheap pioneer head units with mp3 and wma so it wont be hard task finding one for not much

tidy - i was just going to get a us-audio 2channel for the sub and bridge the signals to have 1 mono channel.

was sooooo close to buying.. only $230 but hopefully i can talk em down a bit as a mate are i both want one.. can't find any reviews on it, any one here got any comments.
only thing i can see which might be a problem is that it only has 1 RCA out.. is that bad?

nah i didnt have a chance to go - was soooooo busy.
1 rca out - that just means that you wont be able to fade front to rear...no biggie, but that can be useful to get a better complete sound from your system (ie you have the sub linked to the front speakers and you can turn them down so the speakers in the rear door are a little louder to give a complete surround sound)
other than that it looks pretty good. also, did you happen to notice if any of the us-audio amps were on special?
