I sat in an Audi RS 6 on saturday that was at an airport open house in Nashua, NH. Such a nice car. 450 hp AWD twin turbo and only a mere 88,000. Just thought I'd share that.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm so if its fast to depreciate, then I can get one for only 40k in 3-4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see 2-3 of them driving around the area, and I always find myself stareing longingly....

The guy told me they only made 1500 of the RS 6. If that's the case they may not depreciate too quickly. He also said people were paying above MSRP when they came out.

You will see NO major depreciation in the RS6. The Audi dealership my family uses has pretty high sales numbers and they only got 2. The last S4 only saw a big price drop once the new bodystyle was released BTW. Average used price around here was 33,000 - 35,000+.

Really?! That's good to know. When ever I do a search on the S4's they seem to drop in price every time I check (month to month that is). I would LOVE an S4, but the turbo leak problem / burning turbos and tranny give me the heebie Jeebies. Chino... you think they are ok to buy used?

My buddy drove one when he went on business to Switzerland last week. Here's a pic he took of it:

Whell Chino??? Whaddya think?

Dre,
NICE RS6. I stand corrected on that beast.

My mom has the engine setup from the S4 in her A6 and has no problems with just over 15K on the engine. I know the old S4's sell for right around 24K now. I realize the first year S4 had bearing issues with the Turbos but I am not aware of any other wide sprad problems. Then again I am just a casual S4 observer. If I just browsed these forums I would think the MSP was a rolling death trap now wouldn't I? :D

lol true.

Watch out for pistons flying outta people's hoods.

I have not heard any complaints from the RS6, they seem to be solid, but the S4's (I spoke with a local S4 shop) and the most things that go wrong are the turbo hoses ( the Y Hose that puts the air into the TB), the Turbo's burn up, and the tranny goes (manual, not the auto) That's wierd, but oh well. There was a place I read about them that was a complete guide on what years to buy. 2001.5 and up are safe bets :D ( Mazda is not the only one that uses the .5 system! )

Very fast Very expensive VERY quick to depreciate (audi's that is :D )

I couldn't have said it any better :) As an ex-Audi owner, I know 1st hand how bad the depreciation is.

we recently traded in our family a6 avant and got ***** for trade in... That was our second Audi, now we got a lexus. My dad compared 3yr old lex vs the 3yr old audi, and it was worth more and cost 6k less to buy.

On the RS6.. i saw a sick ass one in amsterdamn.. it was a wagon version. Im dont think we got that in america.

Audi RS6 = rich man's ultra fast sedan. They could care less about depreciation.
