Attn: Phenolic Intake Manifold Thermal Insulators

I have them and love them. Plus while I had everything off, I had a chance to port the throttle body and the intake manifold, and do port matching on the throttle body/manifold, and manifold/heads. Took all of one day, but the gains were great. This combo was the best cumulative gain of anything so far. Oh, I also did the bypass. Heat soak is way down. I also installed an intake heat shield sock. The torque gains from the colder air were very noticeable along with the high rpm power from the porting.
I would recommend this to everyone.
Cost:$106 for spacers, shipped
$20 approximately, for misc dremel and die grinder accessories.

I was interested in this and think I might plan on doing it soon. I saw in the other thread that you might do a how to, which I think would be great. I am very interested in the port and not scared to do it just know know where to grind off and such and insight would be great.

thank you sooooo much for replying! It gives me more to work with. I am relatively good with tools.....how difficult was it to install?

The hardest part was getting the manifold on and off. The rest I just took my time on and did it right. When you buy them, they come with very extensive installation instuctions. There was no fittiment problem. The only thing I had to do was adjust the throttle cable.
As far as the throttle body, there is much work to be done in there. Once I get the write up done, you will see what is involved.
As far as the man. goes, you really only want to optimize the butterflies and the bar they are on(cut half of shaft, counter sink screws, knife edge the butterfly plates), and remove any casting flash, bumps, and sharp edges. Also, port matching is VERY important. You can do all the work on it you want, but if you don't match the ports, it will kill velocity. If you have never done it before, I would suggest getting a junk manifold(from any car) and practice on it.
Anyway, I recommend it to all that are interested. It worked out great for me.
