NYCZMP3, I have checked with Extreme Machine and there's no problem to work on your car.

Depending on what you decide to get, you can figure around $4000 (Canadian)for the kit and the instalation.

I have found another place, Trac racing who got lot more experience in racing and turbo but is more expensive since they dont make the manifold and the tubing themself. The guy I talked to, Kim, know a lot about turbo and he told me that it can cost around $5000 or $6000 (Canadian) to custom fir a turbo in the MP3 and around $1000 for a stand alone managment system.

WELL I JUST SPOKE WITH EXTREME MACHINES....and i was VERY impressed...i spoke with JOHN...these people state that for $2950 u get the full turbo kit with intercooler 6"x27"x3"(hieght-x-length-x-width), they said they were running a regular protege and a mp3 at 8psi...no problems it was running absoulutly fine....he stated that this kit at 8 psi will give u an extra 90hp!!!...
so that is 230hp!!!!!!!.....he said it is a mitsubishi turbo no used parts all brand new...tubular manifold...bigger injectors....F-M intercooler...everyhting..2950 is a pretty cheap price including install...he said he would need half up front and then it would take 4 days at most...that is the part tht i am alitle wiery about....any one from the MONTREAL area heard of these guys?????....looks like this is the one i am gonna get if not custom....

Nope...

An extra 90 hp is not 230 at the wheels...If the MP3 makes about 113 or so, plus 90 that would make it about 203, if you just add it on.

I think you mean 230 (140+90) at the flywheel. With approximately 20% drivetrain loss you would be at about 184. OUCH!

But, that's still pretty nice.

Do you know if there is a way that EXTREME MACHINES company sales that parts seperatly, and not in a package deal. I am looking just for a turbo manifold. If you could, would you give me the e-mail address, or phone number. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

My MP3 is currently at Extreme Machine shop for the turbo installation. It supposed to be done in approx 2 weeks. I'll keep you informed.

NYCZMP3, at first, I took the time to be sure that I found a good place to get the job done and after that I have waited for them to schedule my job.

Here's my setup:

-Mistubishi turbo TD05 (good for 300hp)
-Extreme Machine inter-cooler and intake
-Full 2 1/2" exhaust system
-2 additional injectors with an additional injector controller

I'll run it with stock internal, so I'll not use more than 8 psi.

Hey, I called extreme machines yersterday and spoke to John. He told me the price was $4000. I asked if that was Canadian, and he said that it was American. I'm confused. Stou, do you mind if I ask what you're paying for yours? Thanks

javy212, the price depend on the type of fuel system you want. It can be FMU, additional injectors or stand alone system. The FMU system is the cheapest one and the stand alone system is the more expensive. I will get an additional injectors system. They told me $4300 (cdn) for this type of system. My budget is $4500 max. Maybe after having started to work on my car they found it more complicated than they tough and they have ajusted the price for the next customer, I don't know. I'll try to think to ask them when I'll go tonight or tomorow.

I believe the shop is located in montreal. It is a little far for me too coming from jersey, but if they do good work, then it's worth it.

Extreme Machine shop is located in Laval, Quebec. It's near Montreal, 15 minutes from Montreal.

They are currently working on my car and they will do a kit for another guy of our local Mazda Proteg club. The other guy have a Proteg GT.

I'll go to Extrem Machine shop tomorow (saturday) to see how the work progress.
