ASKING: Recently payed prices for MSP's

I paid 16,700 last night for a yellow MSP with 27 miles. It was the last one in the state according to mazda.com.

I paid 16,000 for my MSP from Russel Mazda in Ellicott City, MD. Had 80 miles on it, and was one of two left. They might still have the yellow one!!

Bought mine from Russel Mazda also, paid 17,500 back in November. =)
Too bad I don't get to enjoy the free oil changes and car washes. (Im in Missouri)

Eh, i didnt opt for the free oil changes. They told me it would be like 180 bucks for 3 or 5 years of oil changes. I cant remember which, but either way i only use Mobil 1 synthetic and they probably use the cheapest stuff they can find.

Price

Hello everyone! I am new to the board and I have been reading over a lot of the posts that are out there. I do not yet have a MSP but I was wondering how much they normaly cost. Would it be right to say they should cost between 16-20 new. I know the MSRP is 20480 or something like that. What should be my goal when negotiating?

Thanks,
Brad

I bought mine about 4 weeks ago for 18.5 out the door with 2 oild changes and 100 bucks in free gas. That includes an undercoating spray and interior/paint protection. Also includes the basic extented warrently.

OK i will take those prices into consideration when I talk to the dealers. I am really excited about the msp's. For the price it is hard to find a car that can compare. Now I just need to make sure I have the finances.

Thanks a lot everyone.

I got my 2003 in December for 16,400+ttl. It's hard to say what you should get now since most sites don't have incentives and Invoice prices posted anymore. Here is what I remember. 2003.5 sticker is 21,000, invoice is about 19,500 (includes destination charge, 2003 is 500 less). 2500 rebate, unpublished 500 cash to dealer (came out in January I think), 3% of invoice dealer holdback.

19,500
-2500 rebate
-500 dealer cash
-600 holdback
$15,900

If what I remember is correct, you should be able to do around $16,000. Maybe better since it is out of the 2003 model year.

2 Yellow MSP's left in Van Nuys, CA. At least that's what's showing up on their inventory. Invoice is around $17,500 - $2500 rebate and now that it is a no longer produced model I believe that it now has depreciation. I'd love to trade my P5 in for one, that is my current dream car, unfortunately I don't have the money to get one because I can only get $11k for my Protege5 and I owe $12,200 on it. :( Plus I'm going to school full time and am still looking for a p/t job.

Wow, thanks for all the info. I am going to be going out and looking at the dealership this week sometime and make sure they still have the ones that I saw on the internet.

also there is a $500 college grad incentive that applies to grads from the last 2 or 3 years, I think...

Lol. I graduate in a few years. 2 or 3 depending on if I double major or not. I saw that college deal on the website. It would have been nice. I went by the dealership the other day and I looked around and didnt see any of the msp's. Hopefully they are still there.
