I drove through 6" of standing water during a downpour in Roanoke only going about 5 mph and my car is still running. If you hydrolock these cars you had to have tried very hard - like literally park in 1 ft of standing water and start the car.

I'm so stoked for the results! Its must be like sending your kid to his very first day of school eh steed? Will his dyno results be better than all the other kids? Who knows.......

That's pretty close to how it is lol! You design, you build, you send it out with little prayer and hope for the best! Most work out well but some just don't work out which is normal I guess.

No worries on my CAI, and I live in a very rainy area. I did take the car through about 14" of standing flood water once, but that was before the CAI.
I may switch back to the OE intake for the rainy season this year.
I don't drive through smallish floods anymore though, that last one came up over the hood a little from the splash-back. No problems though.

So are you going to be making an intake manifold for sure? And do you have any kind of idea on how soon? I have some parts to install that would be alot easier to do with a manifold install. I would like to hold off on the install if you are going to be coming out with an intake manifold.

We will start on that when we get a test car.

Hows the s pipe deal coming? Just wondering if i should wait for a pro one with all sorts of fancy wastegate provisions and tubes all shiny, or just fab one up myself. Already got the full 3 inch made, just need an S+J pipe to put on to finish it up and its getting chilly out lol.

Unfortunately we can't start that till we have a car to work on.

I wish I lived out in alberta, I would definetly offer mine. It's just sitting in the driveway and it's gonna be there until like april haha. Theres no rush or anything, I just like gettin things done :D that unfinished 3" sitting in my room is just screaming to be finished and put on haha.

For those of you wondering, yes my room is large and also doubles as a shop. I'm living the dream of someday having my bedroom in the garage lol.

I think there should be decent power in an intake, as Leen said, still waiting
on a tester.(thumb)

So did you get a test car yet? Or do you have anyone showing interest. Damn I wish I was closer cuz I would offer my car. I would love to see an intake manifold made.

So would I. Still in the bodyshop, had to re-do the bumper.

Hey Steedspeed

about the Spipe, if i were to lend you my stock Spipe would that work to atleast get the ball rolling. I have a CS Spipe, and i am scared shitless that its gonna crack (yes i have new harder motor mounts and stiffer exhaust hangers). Like maybe a Manifold / Spipe combo i know to change the manifold that all has to come off.. so :P

We are waiting for a test car right now and once we have that we will get going pretty quick. The stock stuff is good but we really need a car here to be able to see where we can maximize radiuses etc.

BTW. Chris has an aluminum exhaust system on his RSX. Would you guys be interested in that sort of thing for the Protege? They are light and strong but much cheaper than Titanium.

aluminum exhaust? i dunno is that better then stainless steel? i mean aluminum will corrode no?

the vibrant exhaust is a really good system for the MSP, i mean it would have to compete with that, if it can and somehow you can make it so i doesnt rust or whatever oxidize it would be a good alternative
