i just got my street rings right now, but they look a little unfinished. the two smaller rings look ok, a lot smoother than the large ring. the large center ring's top surface is rough and looks like it needs to be sanded and polished. is this how they are supposed to look? i don't want to take it up with ********** until i get my facts straight.

i hope you can see what i'm talking about, the pics aren't too good.

You know what happens when you make a copy....

I dont know but i would say they look as if they need polished to be finished.

ya, thats what i was thinking. like maybe they forgot to finish this one before the shipped it.

i know a ton of people of the forum have ordered them, so does everyone's look like this?

i was just looking through some of my polishes, and i found "mothers aluminum and mag polish". would that smooth them out?

LOL, facts are hard to find on the forums.

If you have a problem with a ring, email go@**********.com. There are a ton of rings and a ding'd ring could have snuck by. You can send them back for another set or if you touch them up with WET 600 grit sand paper it will take out any blemishes. I apologize on the dings, its uncalled for. Thank you.

That will work, you can combine that with the 600 grit wet sandpaper. Use the polish after the sandpaper.

hey thanks for the quick reply. i think i have some 600 wet sandpaper lying around, i'll see how that works. i polished a little part of it and it gives a chrome finish, not what i originally wanted, but not bad. after i'm finished, if it doesn't look too good i might want to get another set.

thanks again.

Polish/sand the whole ring, so it matches. It wont be "chrome," but it will take the blemishes out.

if you don't like the high polished look, find some scotch pads and scuff the rings till they are uniformly brushed. actually, check with cullen. his rings might not work this way.

Fine steel wool will make them more dull. Uniformily, now, is how steady you can keep the wool on the ring.

it's actually not that bad. i used it on my header to get the purple out... and for the daveb rings, that's how they came brushed. every single ring was brushed by hand with a scotch pad.

Your comment that you think is goofys can be viewed as offensive. It was brought to my attention by one of YOUR fellow members. They sent me to the thread. They actually thought it was rude and I needed to straighten it out. You obviously took offense to it my initial response and I apologize. And now you want to start a fight, its kind of funny. Instead of just apologizing for the misunderstanding, you want to argue. I don't get it.

And the IM comment shows you have have no clue what you are talking about. I have a bunch of IM info for you if you want it. The number is below.

Once again..taking things the wrong way...I will stop this here...I am not out to hurt your business in any way.I am sorry if you took it that way.I appreciate all of the vendors that show this community support and that includes you.Not here trying to pick a fight if thats what you were thinking.Sorry for all of this...I really was just trying to help out the memmber by giving him advice.

hey thanks for all the help, i appreciate all of it.

i ended using 800 grit wet sandpaper and then a little polish. kinda gave it a satin finish. i really like it. it was a little more work than i wanted to do, but i'm very happy with the end result.
