Are our cars(msp's) as weak as people are making them out be?

hells yes lets do it.....the main event...in the right corner DS and in the other 505..muahaha
hitting a little closer to home...i want TO RUN LINUX AND CHOJIN!...AND LETS NOT FORGET TEASE!

itz alan- i hear ya but it did make it worse....theres no wheel hop just the little tires spinning round and round...although it looks cool it messing things up when i launch...and being that i am no pro its pointless for me to try...
I won't be running anyone for a while. No sense in tearing up a new tranny/clutch/mounts/etc. Then again, I may. :D

Don't lie t3ase! We'll be seeing you in the staging lanes! Isn't peer pressure great(evil) (fight).:D

I'll run you all...you may all beat me, but I'll run you... he he... me and VegasMSP will be running down there together....see you guys there.

Hey guys, sorry to threadjack a little, but in relation to the wheel hop issue, I know a guy who has eliminated it completely in his speed, and says that all he did was pull his ABS fuse (as this is the only way to disable traction control)! Iv'e watched him launch and I swear to frickin god he has no hop! I realize that this is NOT a safe or practical option for everyday driving....but for runs at the track it could be a great option, as he says he was running 15-flat when stock. I talked to this guy recently and he says he hasn't changed his motor mounts or anything else that would have anything to do with it! Any thoughts?

hmm i dont think abs has anything to do with wheel hop. its caused due to mounts beign to soft.

You're right...but as I said when you disable the ABS, TRACTION CONTROL is also disabled. My car wheel hopped when brand new, when my mounts would not have been worn.

Sorry for being dumb then! (braindead TCS came with the ABS/EBD package on my 2003 ES, and from what my understanding was, MSPs had it too. Again sorry for my newbie-ness. Makes me wonder even more about how my friend got rid of his hop. I may have to kidnap and interrogate him.

We have traction control, in a way. We don't have electronic traction control, but we do have a limited slip differential. That's like mechanical traction control. I think limited slip is better because it's always "on." It doesn't wait for slippage to occur and then engage like electronic traction control, which just applies the brakes to the wheel that's spinning faster. Electronic may be better on ice and stuff though.

Disagree: i find that lsd pulls like no other in the ice, better than the 02es i had before, and way better than any of gm's ets-equipped cars i drove...

Ok. I never owned a car with traction control so I was just takin a shot in the dark. Is it cheaper than an lsd then? Why would anyone get it if it isn't as good?

Probably cheaper if all it does is brake one wheel... thing is (I believe) most now come standard on their models, but i'm not sure of this...

Traction control and an LSD don't neccessarily have the same objectives. An LSD does give you more traction, but it's not supposed to neccessarily stop the tires from spinning, like TCS will. Just when one wheel spins with an LSD, the other wheel will get the power. Drift cars all have LSDs to get both wheels to spin, but if they had traction control they wouldn't be able to drift. Also, LSDs help in slaloms and make the car handle better, as it doesn't pegleg around corners and have the inside wheel spin.

From what I have heard thru mutiple tuners and fabricators that...
Aren't the stock MSP turbos undersized and over stressed stock for what they are. Doesn't it loose it's efficiency @ 12-15ps??

Just checking...that's all..

They aren't over stressed stock. They do start to lose effiency once you get up there, but it doesn't mean it isn't making more power.
