I'm hitting 14 without a FMIC and, while I may be playing with fire, I have yet to have any engine related issues. I also don't boost that high in 4/5 gear or if the car is loaded, going up a hill, etc.

C16 is leaded. Chances are your cat is already gone, so that won't be a problem. Your O2 sensors won't last very long, but it is well worth it .

yeah i have the catless downpipe myself...if they go theres always the universal 02's that run like 45 bucks....

5th gear to me is a highway cruising gear IMO..i never push my car in 5th, except one time on the turnpike to see how fast i can top it off(was at 4am no one going either way on the TP) didn't take long either =)

thankx man....yashoo is runnin 14psi daily from the factory(yes) lol...im not sure what hes got done to it..i remember correctly its stock.

Yep it is running 6 PSI when I give it part throttle but if I downshift or rev the motor before lauching it hits 14-15PSI. I am not sure why. The only non-stock things on the car are the new wastegate/BPV hoses that the tech installed. The boost is high under certain conditons and low under other conditions. It is a very wierd thing. I want to put my MBC so it would be 12PSI all the time at a minimum like it was for the first 30k miles but I am a little nervous now since the motor decided to run crazy boost on it's own. It is almost like the wastegate was adjusted when it was in there for the repairs/hoses. The tech drove the car 30 miles in a bout a 1.5 day period so I am guessing he did not beat on it too hard or else he would have seen the boost. Under normal driving speeds it stays right where it should 5-6PSI but when you run the revs up quickly it goes to 14.
I do have the luxury of 93 octane Super so I assume that helps. But as of this point if the motor goes it is all stock.

Hell, I nail it in 5th gear all the time on the highway. I pulled a Lincoln LS (V6 I think) from a 5th gear roll. No downshifting ncessary.

I'm a firm believer in pushing the motor to its extremes *WITHIN* the confines of properly modifying your vehicle. Hey, if you were doing everything you were supposed to and the engine blows, **** it, just more a reason to make that b**** stronger.

discreet, is ur launching so bad because of ur tires? are u running on stock tires or something? if so.. no wonder.. haha i cant even launch stock with these potenzas .. do u have motor mounts? hopefully u'll move onto getting kills starting from 0.. since AWD isnt that good on roll anyways.. good luCk.. get some new tires =)

Hey DS you going to Protegefest? Some of us in Vegas are kicking the idea around of going. I would like to see that bad boy dragging out there. Keep up the good work representing. When we were at Death valley yesterday (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54807) I played around with the Evos and Wrxs. There were surprised as h*ll at my car. When we stopped a few times they were what kind of car is that? It's turboed!!.... When we were taking the turns me and TheJohnny were riding there asses. I had some straight away runs and they were shocked (including me) that we were going neck and neck. I'm not claiming victories, just surprised.The altitude was messing with my boost but I was up to 11psi. I'm afraid to push farther then that, but more power to ya DS.(2thumbs)

I think he means that the *traction* is worse now, not the hop. He's puttin down A LOT of power though, compared to stock.

itz alan- i hear ya but it did make it worse....theres no wheel hop just the little tires spinning round and round...although it looks cool it messing things up when i launch...and being that i am no pro its pointless for me to try...
