2025 Mazda CX5 NA
Hi everyone, it recently came to my attention that I MAY be applying the electronic parking brake wrong when i do my oil changes on my 2025 CX5 non turbo. But Im not sure.
I drive the car up on the two front wheel ramps. (see image).... Once i get to the flat part of the ramp, of course now the front is elevated, So with my Foot Fully depressing the brake pedal, and STILL IN DRIVE... I engage the parking brake. I THEN put it in Park.
But ive recently read Im supposed to put it in NEUTRAL before engaging the parking brake? But does it really matter?
I never get any kind of clunking or anything like that when i disengage the parking brake and reverse back down the ramps. Just want to make sure Im doing this exactly right and not putting any kind of uneccessary stress on the transmission or anything.
Thanks.
