The piggy back was succesfully installed last week. The wiring was quite simple and we are just working out some load issues for fuel.
She controls timing wihtout any problem. We are working on the crank signal right now because it seems that sometimes she takes on the second try to start the car instead of the first. We found where the resistance is and will be correcting it on monday and tuesday. The new software we ordered will be out this week too so we can have it copywrited. Aftersome final tuning and dyno run this week we will start to fill orders. We allready have many people that have placed deposits on this forum and others. Just cant sell it yet till im protected with the software rights. Im sure you all understand.

:)
Perf,

Can a person with only light modifications (exhaust, intake, etc.) make use of this piggy back? Just wanting to know if it would be a worth while addition to a car that is only mildly modified.

Brought this one back from the dead, huh?
. . .even though it isn't really that old. . .

The unit Perfworks is talking about in this thread is the MPI Tuner. You would never guess so, given that he doesn't talk about that piggyback in a positive manner any longer. My how times change.

Did the manufacturer say that it will work?
Not sure what this means. I know that the manufacturer of the AEM tells people that they do not have a system that will work on the Protege. Yet I know that some people talk about it for Protege anyway.

Thanks again

i have safc2 setup in my car.. got the same problem that can't control and a/f ratio.. anyone know how?
THe only system that I have seen control both spark and fuel in open and closed loop is the MPI Tuner.

Thanks again

Don't bother, no one has gotten the S-AFC to work right on the Protege.

The wiring is simple? What about the PnP system? Why would you use the crankshaft signal. It has some drawbacks. Hard starting and many CELs. Thats why we changed to driving the coils only.

So, you drive the coils on the MPI Tuner? What happened off the crank signal?

You have problems with the balanced signal from the crank sensor. Also you are limited on how much timing you can add or remove.

Thanks again

Nick,
You realize these messages from perfworks are from WAY back, as in, when you two liked each other, right? :)

Chris

That just makes it that much more interesting to see how he changes what he likes with the wind. Give it some time, he'll change again. Remeber his 400+hp protege with honda rods in it?
