Apex motorsports exhaust

I just installed apex motorsports 2.5" axhaust with an Apex'i N1 muffler. And I just thought I'd say it KICKS ASS compared to the stock p.o.s. Of course thats a given.

Did you get downpipe and catback or just catback? how much of a difference did you feel over stock?

I just got the cat back because I had gotten the Cat-less downpipe back in November. As far as going from the cat-less downpipe with stock exhaust to the full exhaust I believe it spools a little faster. I haven't notice any real gain in power because I have only driven it about 5 or ten miles since the install. Anyway it's almost impossible to notice any gains in HP unless you get ten or more at one time from my own experience. And I know that it'd be pretty hard to do that just by swapping out an exhaust system.

how is the clearance? i for one was concerned about that. we have monster speed bumps over here....no one seems to know how to build a decent driveway either. oh yeah, how about a soundclip? :)

Well I'm Guessing that theres between 8 inches to a foot clearance from the lowest part of the pipe at the rear wheel to the ground. I almost ruined my day first thing this morning. I wasn't paying attention to how much lower the muffler hangs and when I was backing it into a parking space I barely cleared the curb. Not even an inch gap. I wouldn't have even thought about it until I did hit something if a friend wasn't riding with me and he just happened to point it out.

I am considering the Apex downpipe with High Flow Cat. I assume it connects to the car in the same manner as your Cat-less pipe. Do you know if the downpipe bolts directly to the turbo? I keep hearing about this S-Pipe that sounds like it's between the turbo and the downpipe, and want to make sure all blockages are out of the way...

yeah, the term "downpipe" is getting thrown around here a lot. the downpipe is the section that bolts directly to the turbo....most people here call it the s-pipe. and what most people here call the "downpipe" is more of a midpipe section...it bolts to the s-pipe, not the turbo. so the order will go: turbo, s-pipe, midpipe (section with cats), catback.

Thanks for the clarification. turbos and modifing are new to me.

So does anyone make a replacement for both the s-pipe and the downpipe? I want a nice clean pipe from turbo straight to the cat, no hidden twists.

Ion is the only one that makes a full turboback with an s pipe I think. But you can always get one custom made!

I believe that I have seen one or two more companies that makes one. When I get some time today I'll try to do some research. Cuz I also need one. Sorry about calling the midpipe a downpipe. I know better. I'm just used to calling the midpipe a downpipe.

Yes I noticed a pretty large difference between the apex midpipe and the stock one. I did install the cat-less midpipe. And the stock one has two, so The exhaust flow greatly improved. The turbo spooled much faster as well. But when I installed just the downpipe I also installed the Injen CAI. I should have installed the Injen or the midpipe one week and the other the next so that I could have seen the difference each one made instead of them both together. But i'm impatient.
