APEX AFC and o2 Wide Band....

Hmmm so it'll be much easier just to get the plug and play unichip... can they create different maps and such for different moods of driving...

yes the unichip is the easiest way to go but you can't tune the car yourself. i think the afc ii is a good idea and it will work with a little hard work. i understand that the maf senor can't read the right voltage. but a map senor or press. senor is the way to go. if you have and electronic boost gauge like greddy with the press. senor you can use that. you can set the afc II to 0 at idle and as you go into boost you can add fuel through the afc II. this would make the msp boost depended meaning as you add boost you could add fuel. now the only thing is if the pcm learns the afc II then you are going to need a voltage clamp.

thanks justin h.

There is also the MPI Tuner that lets you do the tuning yourself. Mind you that it can be dangerous!

If you want something to play with you should go with AEM PnP standalone...thats probally more self explanitory and userfriendly then any other EMU. But its gonna cost you...still not too expensive for the average MSPeeder. Its mad tite you can be just like Paul Walker in Fast and the furious! Cool looking graphs and big warning signs on laptop = FAST!
I agree! On top of that you get so much more like traction and launch control (that alone is worth 1K)...

Hmmm i dont want to mess with the wiring and tuning... unichip then eh? i just heard that the unichip doesn't work well with some MSP's.. so i'm not too sure.

I'm still not sure why more people aren't buying the Unichip. I'll wager that the majority of MSP owners have never tuned a motor before, so I'm not quite sure why there is such a fuss about having to goto a UC tuner if you want mapping adjustments. Its the same as taking a Haltech,Mircotech etc to a tuner, except you don't have to hack up your engine harness. /rant

EDIT: While having just a fuel piggyback would be nice from a cost standstill, it won't allow you to make the kind of power a fuel&timing system will safely allow due to the need for ignition retard once you start running high boost.

The Unichip is nice and I'm considering it in the next couple months, but I'm leaning towards the MPI because even though it requires some tuning knowledge (which I'm working on) there's a ton of support on this forum. Going to the UC tuner isn't a big deal, but when you consider that buying an Injen CAI is $200, it'll cost what, $100 to tune for just the intake? Then add a FMIC later down the road and on top of the cost of the IC you'll need to tune for that and so on.... After a while you could've bought a stand alone, or the MPI and injector set. If you're happy with your current mods with one or two small ones down the road, then I'd be all over the Unichip. If you're looking to build your car up more and will be constantly modifying Emanage or MPI is a better chioce.

Hmmm i'm gonna be getting a custom fmic done, and exhaust and such... will i have to have the UNICHIP tuned for this??? or will it work fine?

chances are yes, thats why I would go with something you can tune yourself

Exhaust and intake probably won't require unichip tuning unless you're getting a 3 in catless exhaust, but to maximize the gains tuning would be HIGHLY recommended. For the IC you'll need tuning.

Actually someone has posted that they have a working SAFC2 on their car as well as a greddy E-01 and it does work, but the usual assholes gave him s*** and he's keeping it to himself. I've seen it he lives here in AZ and it works great. Anyways, it works just not easily.

Thanks Rich!

I wonder how they got it to work?? I know your friend will tell you!
