AP locked up again!!!

So I had to send my AP back in Feb. because it took 5 min to get into monitor mode. Cobb replaced the internals and sent it back to me, stating that there was an issue with the unit not purging data. It is now April, and similar symptoms starting happening again, so I attempted to update to the latest firmware 1.6.0.0 from 1.5.0.0, and when the updtate gets to the reboot step, the updater can not locate the device and it just spins its wheels. I really need my ap to get my idle tuned, and did not plan on waiting over a week to do so while waiting for my ap to come back from Utah! Has anyone experienced this, and found a way to get the update through without sending it back to Cobb? I am a little nervous because the other day I had U0100 and U0101 codes after flashing a new map. I really don't want to uninstall it now with it acting up...I certainly don't want to have to buy a new ecu...thoughts?

I had a similar experience before my ECU went completely blank. It would take sometimes several minutes for the main menu to come up, and also for it to start monitoring it would sometimes take a minute or two, very frustrating. It was a dongle problem for me, After I taped the extra wire together and taped it behind the dash the problem went away, don't ask me why. Recently I could not update my AP, it would get to the last stage and just stay there, for hours. I had my AP and ECU sent to cobb recently and now everything is working perfectly. They found out that I had selected "Federal" even though my cars ECU was "California". They told me they were going to be releasing a new firmware update to address this issue since they' done away with the whole federal/california thing. I purchased my car in New Jersey so I never even thought it would be a "california" model, whatever that means, so over time it was causing my AP to run poorly, maybe thats your case. I don't think you need a new ECU, I would trust in COBB that they'll take care of it.

I called Cobb and they stated that the fix is on firmware 1.6.0.0, and that I had to send the unit back to them for repair because I had 1.5.0.0 installed from the last repair. I guess when it gets to the point that is slows down and freezes up, you can't force through a firmware update. They were very good about it and emailed me a shipping label so I didn't have any out of pocket expense to send it to them this time (insured shipping the first time was over $30.00.) I should have it back Thurs. I am starting to wonder if the AP will ever be suited for a daily monitor. I may just have to pony up on a Dashhawk.

Same thing happened here. No way for me to update it and had to send it in. It sucks, I had an aggressive tune and took my chances reflashing but was instructed not to do so because it could've died and I would be ******. Nothing happened but had to go to stock map and start all over again when it gets back. GL man, it sucks having a taste of that power for like 3 days then the unit ******* up on me because I live monitored....

Got my AP back today. All seems to be fine, and it is updated with 1.6.0.0 firmware. They said that this new update will keep it from locking up again.
