eh.. but the rules are softer in ufc.. you cant stomp a guy in the head, and they let too much "downtime" go on, when the fighters are on the ground with no action... pride refs make those suckers stand up real quick.
and Cro Cop would own ufc. he's too much. but him vs. arlovsky would be fun to watch.

yeah I would not want to be in Pride, when those guys are kneeing you in the face while your on the ground it looks rather painfull lol
I have never seen Cro Cop with a challenge, the guy is a killing machine, him and Arlovsky would be a brawl for sure

i was pulling for evan tanner, but daivd loiseau's elbows are like knives. i was hoping tanner wouldnt give him a chance to use them, but he did.
i was glad josh koscheck got his ass beat, i dont like him or chris leben. but leben looks like hes been working on his submissions.
brandon vera muct be out of his mind to call out chuck lidell the way he did. he obviously has the itch to get his ass knocked out.

I am so into MMA, I myself started doing Muay Thai some time ago, and love it, had a couple amateur matches, but Chris Leben is from here, and he trains at a GYM i would love to train at called Team Quest. UFC is going to really take off soon.
chris leben all time right there man, love to watch him fight. new up and commer making a name for himself with Quest as a team. i can't believe they put him with that stupid canadian who barely got anything on him.
but yea when you are off your feet and in submissions you are in a totally differant attack mode and fighting style. so i'd like to see how cro cop would do against arlovski. i think i saw him fight once, think they had a clip on UFC. isn't he from Croatia? and use to be a cop? hence the name. but it dosn't matter how big or strong you are or how good you are with kneeing someone in the face if you are in a leg/arm bar or triangle. that is skill. would love to see a UFC match like that. but taht one guy, forgot his name, shouldn't have called chuck "iceman" liddel. he will just tear that guy a new ass. chucks my boy, "you're my boy blue!".

I think the reason that the powers that be - on TV - picked UFC compared to Pride is because of the level of violence. I think alot of viewers believe that kind of fighting on regular cable is how all the bouts really are and they're NOT. The pay per view ones make me cringe. I get reminded of it everytime I see one of the guys "collieflower" ears. Guess I'll have to set the Tivo for Friday. I keep missing episodes damnit. I'm waiting for the chick version. But I seriously doubt that'll ever happen. No one will want to get hit in the face. lol And in the female version, hair pulling will probably be allowed.

(hah) collie flower ears? never heard of that. when you said that i first thought of forest griffen since he has big ears and reminds me of the character who played Lloyd on Dumb and DumberER. the dumb movie when they were kids.
The ears of a pride fighter and some boxers have what they call "collieflower" ears. (if I'm even spelling that right) Its that funny shape that the ears take on like they're puffy and turned kinda to the back after being "disfigured" from fighting. Next time you watch the coaches, look closely at their ears. Most of them, if not all of them, have it.

I enjoy all MMA, Pride fighting especially, pride fighting is more of a art, not so much ground work, so it is a little bit more exciting. Cro Cop is crazy, Bas Rutten is even crazier, they are not in the same class, and Bas is some what retired, but he would kick Chuck Lidell ass any day. But Chuck Lidell is one crazy dude 2. They have 2 different fighting styles, Lidell is brute force, Rutten is Finess, and a lot of mental work. I would some day love to see that fight. And yes Nate Quarry fight for team quest but he no longer trains in there gyms, has has moved to Las Vegas, but still represents the gym. Leben still actuall trains here in Gresham. Hell of a nice guy too, the gym where i go (Sweet Sceince Boxing) held a seminar training thing up in beaverton and he was there as a instructor, didnt really meet him, but he just seemed pretty damn genuine, and nice.

and there is a dude named Ryoto Machida, He's unbeaten. And he has defeated kengo watanabe, BJ penn, michael mcdonald, stephen bonnar, And he's the only dude to ever beat Rich Franklin. but he doesnt as yet fight in the ufc.
And Dennis Hallman, who fights on friday in ufc has beaten Matt hughes twice.
It's too bad about Ivan Salavery, he got cut from ufc because they had low ratings on their live spike tv show, a 3 round snoozer.... but he's still one of the best right now. - peaxe

hehe.. actually, he trains with my cousin. they grew up together and wrestled in high school together. he rules the Abu Dabi (sp?) tourney, i think he won it 2 times in a row, but has met his match a few times in Pride Bushido...
