ANYone want to buy my ms3?

I don't buy used cars because I don't wish to get stuck with someone else's problems. On the other hand, since I really baby my cars - I'm sure a lot of the auto enthusiasts here do the same - I bet there are great deals out there to be had. It's just that I'd rather pay the premium to avoid the unfortunate circumstances. ^_^

So what are your plans for the 240?

sr20 swap the usual...its just a car i have always liked and wanted...ive already found a few on auto trader with the swap which would save me the hassle of driving a piece for a few months..1993 is my favorite year and i dont want to change the headlight to silvia lights..i like the frog eyes.. but thats a nice car in that pic..and 240'sx are pretty dam light..2700lbs

I had a 94 and junked it because the money to hook it up equaled a new car payment every month. A clean 240 with none of the usual rot, sr20, proper maint, and a few upgrades is easily 10k. Then your still driving a 15yr old nissan with ratty paint bad seats aged styling and a beat to s*** jdm engine. In your favor any money you put on your MS3 and your payments should make some equity in your car. If some one takes over payments it should work in their favor for lowering the price.

Sorry man that 240sx is uggly as s*** unless you rice it out like the previous pic then it can look cool. I suppose it would take a lot of money to make a nice one since they are more then 10yrs old.

What is so bad ass about them that I am missing? I assume there is a huge after market for them by now so that has to be part of it.

What swap are you talking about?

Just keep the car and buy a rolling chassis to build up. I'm up to like 5 cars now because I never get rid of em. That 240 is never going to be dependable enough to drive consistently like your MS3 is. You need a reliable daily driver before you can build a car up.

i think this is good advice if you can afford it

im considering doin something like that..doing some more research i found that i would need to upgrade the chassis to handle more power since it is old and i wouldnt have a car for a few weeks if i did that..dealing with harnesses and dropping the engine in..maybe a 240sx should remain a project car for me..i work and go to school so yea i pretty much need something reliable...

So, the car you are trying to sell to one of us is the one with the dry transmission and all the other problems you have been telling us about? Good luck with that.

yea and mazda is fixing it...i dont need luck...just a few dollars and some car ads..

I think I brained my damage...

*Edit* I'm not quite getting the whole get rid of the MS3 payment but purchase a 240, do an SR20 swap etc. Correct me if I'm wrong but how do you plan on saving money taking that route? They require LOTS of maintenance as a few already mentioned. A buddy of mine just sold his to purchase a new 350z and his 240 was literally a show car. He would only take it out for a nice sunny Sunday drive and it still broke allot not to mention they rust fairly easy. Just my .02 cents...

I can say that going from a ms3 to a 240sx is rather not cool.

Whats wrong with your car right now, that makes you wanna get rid of it? Has anything been fixed.

Mazda should be fixing all your s*** under warranty. It's a brand new car.

mazda has fixed everything has has ever happend to my car...just always liked 240sx and wondered why i didnt think of that BEFORE i bought the ms3..i thought i would be saving money but after reading alot about the car and what requires for what i want its something that should be a "project" like someone said...getting the car fast and looking good would take alot of shop time and alot of sitting around while i do need a car...maybe that is why i kinda "forgot" about it before i got the ms3 because its alot of things required before the car can even run..

(fuoops) (eekfu) BOO THA SR20 DROP(eekfu)(fuoops) keep tha KA, its cheaper and much easier to get than the SR20, plus you got more torque "NO replacement FOR displacement", the car isnt THAT unreliable. jeez, you guys made it sound like it'll break down within the month he buys it. Keep up tha maintenance which wont be that bad if you pick up a nice one, listen to what she says, and stick to that forum i gave you

and yes the KA(stock engine) can be turbo'd, that forum is chock full of sponsors and because of the love of the stock engine, it has as big of a market as the SR, but no JDM love of course

what forum did u give me?

Well, I definitely understand you not wanting a car that gives you problems. Everytime something is wrong with my car I want to do an insurance job on it but I won't.

If your car is still having problems just make sure mazda fix's everything until your happy. Don't sell the ms3. That's my opinion.

The car can be fast as ****, just needs mazda to fix all the little bulls***.

And before my MSP, I had a FWD 99 or 98 Altima I don't recall what year, I'm drinking at 3:00pm lol. I was going to do the BluEBIRD FWD sr20 swap. In the end, I probably would of spent alot more money on the altima than the MSP. Modding included.

I think in the end it's .... new car > old car.
