Anyone using MegaSquirt?

Hey, I'm putting in an order for MegaSquirt, which is an experimental, kind-of Do-it-yourself fuel management. I figure it'll be a nice little project, to put on top of the rest of the project of getting this car to run with high boost. I wonder if anyone else on this board is running the megasquirt system? Lots of information about the system can be had online at Megasquirt. If you're wondering if this might be a good option for you, PM me and I'll tell you all I know! It looks like it's gonna cost about 400 for everything, with air/fuel and timing control, with laptop or dash-mounted programmability. Basically you build it however you want it, and it comes with completely comprehensive instructions. Later

very popular among the Neon crowd. they make some good power with it and there is a decent support network for the unit

if your goal is 400 hp you'll probably want something different.
there are several 350whp+ neons with it
there are several versions of it
regular megasquirt
megasquirt+spark
ultra megasquirt and there is one other one I thinks

everyone around Omaha is going megasquirt hard core. The first DSM in the world to run Megasquirt is a friend of mine. My other buddy who has a Flying Miata Turbo kit is changing over to megasquirt, and one of our locals is powering his 10 second 1000hp/1100tq chevy silverado with megasquirt, as well as a turbo mustang v8....

All with amazing results. People are trying to get me to convert. To be honest, I'm VERY impressed with what i've seen and with the local megasquirt knowlage it is tempting. I would save a HELLA amount of money, but i'm just not sold on it yet.

MPI or Megasquirt? Tough choice.

Oh yea... I was offered by the local megasquirt guru to have my car running megasquirt 2, installed, tuned, and dyno'ed for 750.00 including labor... Thats one hell of a deal.

yeehaw looks like there's more support for this than I thought! I'll be sure to post up when I get things installed! Car is having mechanical parts put in at the moment, management should be going in in 2-3 weeks. Until then...

Make sure that you shut off the injectors with the magasquirt at the factory redline.

Will it work with our "smart" ecu? Will we need the voltage clamp?

Thanks.

If you guys want a source to buy a pre-assembled one, an electronics company I work with makes them for Bowling&Grippo. Let me know and I will grab a quote, maybe a GB thing???
