I've been thinking about touching up my side mirrors and hatch handle. They are pretty dull and non glossy. I have a custom cover to keep the paint clean- unfortuntately it takes a toll as you need to pull it over the mirrors...

Anyone have experience with custom matched canned auto spray paint? I saw some places on the web that sell it for $20 or so. They also have spray gloss.

Does this actually come out looking decent or am I better of spending a lot more $$$ going to a paint shop?

they arent too bad, but cant guarantee it will match 100%.

it comes out ok as long as you properly sand and polish it.

yah if you do this it is gonna take alot of work to make it look good, i did 2 days of prep and primer work on my grill before I did it and it still didnt come out quite right, a little darker than my car and so forth. Hell most paint shops wont garuntee a 100% match if all you give them is a color code....for the work im currently having done on exterior parts i drop off my gas lid for 2 days so they can match it better.

For interioir pieces you should be ok with a can from paintscratch or paintworldinc websites.

Hmmm, thanks for the tip. I wouldn't have thought of that. Actually my P5 came with a welcome kit which included a bottle of touchup paint so I guess that would be easier.

yah if your doing just that, touching stuff up, then thats all you need, otherwise for bigger stuff it would be easy to bring in the touch up paint and have em use that to get a closer match.
