Anyone tried Corksport's SRI?

I seen you were selling it quite cheap, i'd buy it but i'd rather not risk the smoking issue. I'm staying far away from exhaust mods until i've done some other things first.

WHAT smoking issue?? I don't puff any smoke out of mine what so ever. I'm a bit confused on that statement actually. I know alot of members are having smoking problems but what does that have to do with a CBE..? I can see that with a Turboback and a MBC but not with just a CBE. (uhm)

On that note, I'm also suprised that everyone complains about how the car runs so rich etc that you get so much carbon build up on the tips?? I don't get that and I keep my eye closely glued to the A/F ratio on my DH, it's mainly always at 14.69 and between shifts the richest I ever get is 17.20.....strange I wonder if people actually read and understand how to reset the ecu for it to readjust to the new found SRI? hmmm?

I don't know man, call me paranoid. I just don't want any issuse and my own personal assumption is everytime i've seen an exhaust mod done, it's eventual that it smokes.

I'll consier it though.

between shifts the injectors should be in decel/cutoff mode and not pulsing much if any fuel, hence the lean reading. thats normal for pretty much any car. this is not the rich issue people complain about.

Hey I feel ya bro, whenever you feel it let me know. meanwhile since now it's close to the holidays I'm just gonna wait till after winter then sell the unit when it's off the car, it's just to cold for me to work on the car now and I'm getting to old for that so spring it shall be.

Better late than never...

I had ordered a Nano, but after waiting a few weeks for delivery I jumped ship for the Corksport intake and inlet. Instructions stated 1 hour to install. I figured I would double it and be safe. Apparently I was overly optimistic, as it turned out to be more like 4. Working outside in crappy Pittsburgh weather was one factor but not the only.
Taking the stock parts off I discovered that the Mazda assembly-line folks possess near gorilla-strength, as this was the effort needed to get the flexi tube of off the inlet. Conversely, these same builders have a softer side as they were kind enough to leave the inlet to turbo clamp on exactly finger tight (this perhaps explains my 2 CEL's within 3k miles of driving the car off the lot).
The install of the CS combo was mostly straight forward, but I would suggest doing a loose test-fit of the entire intake for alignment, prior to tightening it all down. I didn't and ended up being too close to a coolant line clamp, which I promptly used to gouge a hole in said line. This gave me the opportunity to enhance the power to weight ratio by doing the "snipping the ripped hose end" mod. saving me least a gram or two.
The intake sounds nice and acceleration seems enhanced a bit. Additionally I am richer in experience and got to exfoliate the top layers of both hands for free.

Merry Christmahanakwanzaka to all.

Just insatalled my CS intake and inlet pipe and found it to be straight forward. I froze my ass off cause its cold here in CT but everything fit nicely without issues. What I did find with my stock inlet pipe was that it was nvr tightened, the damn thing came right off with little to no effort. I still have yet to drive it since its been snowing but im sure I will be pleased with the performance.

Ok, i took the car out for a spin yesterday and loved it. You can definitely feel the difference. My car did spike almost 20 PSI and setteled between 17 and 18 which made me a bit nervous so I backed off. No CEL at all for those that are nervous. This has been probably the best 240 bucks I spent. You just cant beat what you get.

^^ What does that have to do with this thread?

And i'm hoping all these intake comming to market will drive the price down to the $175 Cobb is at. I really want to pull the trigger on one, but am having a hard time dropping $220+ on an intake.

we just made some revisions to our own intake and it will never be priced above $150

The CS intake includes a turbo inlet pipe as well, some sell just the inlet for 200....
