Anyone tired of the "tickets" threads?

I get so sick of reading "Whaa, I was breaking the law and I got caught, how do I get out of it?" threads. Why don't people just own up to thier mistakes and pay thier dues? I have gotten to tickets in the nealrly two years I have had my MSP.
One was a 62 in a 55 and the other was for squeezing a yellow light. Was I pissed that I got a ticket for 7 over on a highway? Yes. Was all traffic doing the same? No. I was getting passed at the time and I was in the slow lane behind a Semi. But I WAS SPEEDING. So I got a ticket, cop's decision on who to give it to, give it to the guy with the screaming orange car. Did I whine about getting a Lawyer and suing the cops for discrimination or any other crap? No I went and paid the ticket in full on the way home from school. Could I have argued the yellow light thing? Probably. The lights aren't timed exactly and the cop was coming towards me. He could not have sen the yellow for my lane. But you know what? I just went and paid it. Does this make me a push-over? No, I just realize that there are better things in life to worry about than getting all pissy when you are pushing the line and it doesn't go your way.

Have I ever had my parents bail me out on a ticket? Hell no, I wasn't even allowed to have a car when I lived at home. I bought my first car (with money I earned at my job) and had to park it behind the gas station down the street from my parents house. I would "go out skating" and jump in my car with my friends and drive around with no insurance. I got caught after a lady ran into my car when it was in a mall parking lot. I wasn't even in it, but I got my license suspended anyways. But, I was driving illegally.

Some people need to stop and realize how easy they have it and quit bitching about the things that hapen that they could have avoided and then step up to the plate and accept responsibility for thier own actions.

BTW, I slept through my alarm clock tonight and was an hour late picking up my baby. But did I blame it on traffic? No I just paid the babysiter the "fine" and went about my way.

I'd agree with this fully, though I have never seen a 'ticket' thread to tell the truth.

There are a couple of them active today alone.

I think it's importiant to be able to get help in areas where you aren't an expert, what good is an open forum of discussion anyways.

If I had known to bring it up and research it online, it coulda saved me $2400 fine + 8 grand a year in car insurance for the next three years.

Some people just **** up and they don't know how bad it just might be.

But some people just **** up and just make it worse than it is with their bad "**** cops" attitude.

Totally agree. My local forum is full of that, complaints about exhaust tickets, speed traps, god knows what else.

Take a look at this.

Dateline on street racers.

My friends put it up in their profile to brag.

I'm ashamed to even be associated with the crowd.

I don't b**** and complain when I get tickets, as long as I was actually doing what the ticket is for. When I got a ticket for doing 80 in a 50 when my cruise control was set to 60, I most definitely fought it. And got it reduced to what I was doing...60 in a 50.

I still have fought every ticket I have received. Insurance is already a b**** in NJ, and I need to do all I can do to prevent my rates from skyrocketing any further. There's nothing wrong with going to court and fighting a ticket, even if you are guilty.
