Anyone swap out tail lights?

I want to get rid of the bulge too! I seen some on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-07-Mazda-6-Mazda6-BLACK-TAIL-LIGHTS-Mazdaspeed-MS6_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33716QQihZ004QQitemZ140080084027QQrdZ1) that look good, without the bulge. But they say you have to drill. Does anyone know about these, if you really need to drill for the MS6?

Also, for those who have put the non bulge tails on the MS6, do you know what model years we can use from the 6? I was thinking of hitting up a junk yard or used auto store.

I know the lights you're talking about, they're the JDM tails for the 6. I asked that specific question to the seller and what he said is that the bulbs are in different positions than on the USDM tails so you need to drill to make it work...

I checked out the other forum, and saw a few that have done it, but I didn't see anyone comment on the drilling of those ebay lights. I'll peak again and see if I can find some new info.

i got some lights like that on my car the drilling you have to do is on the running light on the trunk you have to drill a hole so you can put the light and if you do get them be careful cause you'll get shavings in the light and they won't come out as easy as you would think i'm gettin another set and just not drilling the hole it's not that bad but it bothers me i even ended up cutting the light to try and get some shavings out and glued it back together but i still couldn't get em all when i get my new ones if anybody would be interested in my old ones (the one with the shavings in it) i'll let em go for cheap

I have a set of the Red lights from a 6 S on the way. I'm gonna try to tint them a little and then swap them out for the MS6 bulge lights. I can't wait to try this out.

i got another set on the way right now i got both sets of of ebay when i get my other set i'll let you kno i'll send you a pic of the one i had to drill the hole on to make sure you want it it really doesn't look bad at all i'm just really particular about what i put on my car yeah i had cut the back open by the way and nothing else is really wrong with them everything else looks perfect

you don't have to i wouldn't guess it's illegal cause you still have running lights the only hole you have to drill if for the running light on the trunk the right one and i don't understand why for any reason the the left one is drilled but the right one isn't imma just put some tape over the left one's light hole and just have two outside running lights imma run it like that if i get a ticket or somthing i'll let yall know lol

mazspd6 they are all good i had them about a month now they are the jdm smooth tailights i paid $410 for a set which i had to fight someone else on ebay for them they are in good condition you can't tell i cut em unless you look at the back the light and that'll be covered by that carpet stuff on your trunk and all the shaving settled at the bottom of my light so you can't even see them you got dibs on em first as soon as my other ones come in i'll let you know i'm not gonna charge to much cause of the shavings make me an offer about how much you would pay for em

i drive a 6s

its an 06 and i prefer the clear tailight rather then the 05 red tails

maybe tahts just me, i find it to be the most attractive thing besides the dual exhaust about the back of the car

i dont like the 07 blacked out lights tho.

i do however, would like to tint the headlights.

i like my tails the way they are.

I got lucky and sold my NA ms6 tails locally for $250 and some 6i red tails. As soon as my JDM tails come in(got on the group buy in the other forum), I'll be selling the red tails ~75.00 shipped.
If anyone is interested just PM me, but remember I wont be selling them until my jdm lights come in....which hopefully will only be a couple of weeks.

Can I see a pic of the red tails on your car? I have a set of Red too, but I am debating putting them on or just selling them.

How hard do you think it'd be to throw some tint/spray on the red tail to make the a lil darker?

They bolt right up..
