Anyone swap out tail lights?

Did a search and didn't exactly find what I was looking for. Just curious if anyone has swapped out the wacko alcheeza tails for stock red regular 6 tails...if someone could post up pics that would be great...if not a confirmation that they will swap will work as I can pick up a set for $50 to try out...dont see why they wouldn't

I was very interested in this also. I couldnt stand the stock tails, and saw a white 6 and the red looks very nice. If someone does this, id love to see pics.

You find people doing it a lot over on the "other" forum. Quite a few are for sale from $75-100. I'm going to do it as it does look a lot better. Just waiting on tuning first.

I also have wanted to do this since I got my Speed, but more than the Altezza was the "bulge" styling of them, I'm sure most people already knew about these, but I found out that the JDM version sits flush with the rear much like the Mazda 3 does and they are available but for a decent chunk of change.
What I really want Mazda apparently does not make, the JDM in red, but they only have them in the black or chrome for some reason and it's the same basic style we have now but...no bulge styling.
I'm tempted to get them and shoot 'em with the transparent red, but if it goes wrong that's a whole bunch of money to lose out on.
I may just go with the JDM in black and that way it looks the way it should, smooth across the whole back.

See, I'm trying to do the opposit for my G/F's 6. She has the blazing copper 6s and the red lights just don't work well with her color. I want to do the flush mount JDM's with the black interior, but I'm not sure how they fit on the '05 6. I know you have to cut something on the light to make them work, but I'm not sure how intensive it is. Since it's not my car, and I don't want to hear the complaints from her about it if it doesn't work out right I've been in a holding pattern about it. Any info on this swap to the JDM's and what it takes would be appreciated. Too bad my G/F has a 6 otherwise my MSP woulda been traded in months ago for an MSP. I just can't bring myself to drive the same car she has though!

Hmm... I may be sensing a trade in of the MSP coming in my near future! I've been reading about all these MS6 kills of WRX's and 350Z's makes me really think seriously about just getting my girls car but on steriods!!! Once that AFC is out there and someone does something intelligent about the FMIC situation then some of the "real" potential of the car will come out. I was thinking about waiting to see if the do a Mazdaspeed version of CX-7 but I haven't even heard an inkling about it so...

Buy them used, they're around $450 for all 4 new. Nuts. I plan to replace mine MS6's then sell them. They are like $850-900 new!!!!!
