I run MS1 on my MSP but I only control the fuel for now.It work great and no more fuel cut.If you have question I can try to help you but my english is not perfect.
Justin, what is the samuri alt? Kevin has been done with my MS for some time now we just haven't had time to install it, guess he's been too busy working on yours even though he's had mine for a year and a half.

Gavin clued me in that the 1987 Samurai alternator can be made to bolt up to the Mazda motors and it's 4 lbs lighter than the stock alternator. I think Kevin runs drugs or something. He is never at home and when you call him it always seems like he is running around trying not to get shot at.
awesome... i was looking for a thread like this... so as of now, most of you guys running MS are using it as a piggy back??
PM or reply me... wait... actually reply here so that everyone can see the links you guys are talking about for online help... if youre allowed... what do you guys think it will work with atomatics/SportAT??
You pretty much are stuck with it being a piggy back until you get around the altenator since it is ECU controlled. I am going to controlling fuel, spark and timing. As well as a couple of goodies like launch control and electronic boost.
What are the advantages of having the MS or any standalone for that matter control the a/c, alternator, speedo, etc?
Is it not easier to just have the stock ecu run these things, and doesnt the stock ecu do a pretty good job at it?
well yeah but the stock computer has a tendancy to learn around piggy backs. Standalone just gives you freedom on every level.
The ECU doesn't have the ability to alter the tune in open loop.
But in closed loop, the ECU's tune will change by using most of the sensors.(ie. not running off a preset map/tune)
That's the biggest problem with piggybacks.

Velocifero - how you doing w/ MS , is it working ?
I'm gonna buy mine this week , MSII - PCB V3
Did you get the koncksense for that as well , what about the EGT ??
LMK
You wouldn't....There is no point.Again, the question is why would anyone want to go through the hassle to have 100 percent control over every function of the car when the stock ecu does a great job doing it?
Again, with the standalone system controlling the fuel and ignition, the stock ecu will not alter anything.
Velocifero - can you post your current map , any thing you can give me as reference ??
I'm getting my unit this friday and I'm trying to create a map as i'm writing this msg.
Let's start sharing and getting to master MS faster![]()
would you mind taking pics of the harness or make a wiring diagram ?I'm trying to get my wiring harness sorted out this week. If it all goes together as planned I'll be working on the initial MS setup next week.
