Anyone running a Garrett GT25 turbo

I talked to this company, and they offer a Garrett GT25 turbo as a replacement for the K04. It costs 950. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this or if they are running something like this.

What size GT25? I would be afraid it would be too small for the DISI engine.

Well it incorporates a Garrett GT25 CHRA installed into the compressor and turbine housings for a direct fit.

OP, if you have not already made a decision check out BNR Supercars website. Bryan there has a GT28 CHRA inside the stock K04 housing for bolt-on, plug and play for our engines. The stage 1 uses stock snail and requires no change in turbo inlet pipe and will work just fine on stock ECU tuning. It's the same price as what you mentioned for the GT25. IMHO, GT25 is too small and will end up costing you some horsepower. The GT28 CHRH running inside the stock K04's housing and compressor snail should duplicate stock K04 performance and have the ability to add some more power with tuning.

I thought my K04 was going out and looked seriously at this option as I want to stay very close to stock. Turned out that I just had a very difficult to find boost leak that I finally tracked down and fixed.

Wow. Using a p-n-p solution sounds PERFECT. Never realized you could do that.

EDIT: Wait, I'm re-reading. The CHRA does NOT give you instant power without more upgrades?

It would probably produce a modest power bump on stock tune. Yes, with a tune it should hold power a lot better above 6000 rpm. What it absolutely would solve would be the "smoking turbo" issues of the stock K04.
