Anyone put Tokico Illumina adjustable shocks on their MSP?

We emailed ApexR1 about the tokico illumina adjustable shocks and they said they would fit... but they also said that all the struts were the same on all proteges... which is obviously wrong. So do they fit or don't they fit?

This could be the answer stock autocrossers have been looking for but I can't find a god damn fitment guide for these things.

I would be willing to bet that what they meant was that the illuminas would fit any Protege model. I think the stock Tokicos are valved specifically for the MSP.

Exactly. You won't have fitment issues.

Be Careful in the replacements......i read somewhere(can't remember where now) the the sway bar mounts that are attached to struts are extra heavy duty on the MSP and that there is a danger of them breaking if you use a strut that will fit the reg. protege........plus the valving may be stiffer then a reg. protege but not firm enough for our cars

.....just my thoughts:D

hey distantea,

I beleive that they are only legal for stock classes if they came on the car or were a factory onption on that model ...

not sure though(spin)

that is why the neon acr did so well in the stock class.....very light....torquey 2.0l ...and adj struts outof the box

Any replacement strut that fits the stock locating points without modification to either is legal in stock classes. No coil overs where they were not present stock allowed

any strut, shock insterts are legal, but as stated; coilovers are not. the MSP struts are tokico blues(hp's) so the illuminas should have the same amount of strength. i looked at Equinox's Illuminas and the welds, as well as the brackets were VERY beefy and strong compared to the stock Protege struts. no worries about breaking attachment points.

cool thanks............on those equinox.......good for future ref.

does anyone have or know is bilstien has an app for the MSP specifically
