Just bought 3 hatch, love the car but it does not corner the way I would like. So, Im not sure if I need wider tires, different shocks, or stabilizer bars. Any advice would help. If anyone had driven in a BMW 3 series that is what I am looking for. Its like your on rails in the corners!

Thanks Trockler

i have the eibach pro kit lowering springs and an upgraded rear sway wider and lighter wheels and i am very happy with the way it corners... remember this is an entry level car with above class handling... a bmw is a luxury car with above class handling so they are deffinatly different... i would think a bigger rear sway and depending on how you feel a mild set of lowering springs would be your first mod then if you have the $$ do the dampers at the same time or next then move on to wheels and tires... if you have the oem tires you may just want to go with a summer tire with more grip...

good luck

Thanks for the Info

Thanks for the advice, I will look into the rims and tires first. (yes)

...Although I could point out that the 0.87-0.88g of lateral acceleration of the Mazda3 is fantastic for a car in its class, and matches what _Car & Driver_ recorded for the 335i Coupe. Having said that, I have a Progress rear anti-roll bar, and have Racing Beat springs on order, and have KONI Sport dampers waiting for the springs. I would have loved to do coilovers, but they all drop the car more than I wanted, at least if you stick with their recommended level for best handling. You might want to look at getting the Racing Beat front and rear anti-roll bars. Racing Beat's history with Mazdas makes me trust them more than just about anyone else.

Thats a great setup. I was going to get the Racing Beat springs (minimal drop)
but last minute got Koni Springs.... Not too bad.
My car is very neutral in handling and i'm pleased with that. The back end moving is predictable enough that I haven't bought a rear sway for the car.

Thanks for all the Info!!!!!

Thanks again for the info I am a beginner with mods so this is a lot of help.(dance)

My suspension setup so far:

- Eibach ProKit
- Hotchkis front and rear sway bars

I suggest getting the Hotchkis sways.. they are the thickest I believe, and because of this, they will give you the most noticable increase in handeling and biggest decrease in bodyroll. Hands down, the sway bars have been my BEST mod so far..

Which Koni's do you have waiting on RB springs? FSDs?

I'm not sure if that was directed to me, or to Kodiac 3, but just in case, I'll answer. The KONI dampers I have are the Sport dampers (yellows). I'm glad I didn't go with the FSDs. I was worried the Sports would be too stiff at their softest setting, but I definitely don't feel that way now that they're installed. I've even considered increasing the stiffness one click, but decided against it for now. I think I'm going to get the Racing Beat front and rear sway bars, instead. The front end feels like it could use significantly more roll resistance, and based on an email conversation I had with one of the guys at Racing Beat a while back, I think this is definitely the case. Based on the Tire Rack comparison of the FSDs and the Sports, I don't think the FSDs are what I was looking for.
