Anyone have a remote starter in their MS3?

I really want to get a remote starter for my speed3, does Mazda offer one or do I have to go aftermarket? I tried calling them today but got put on hold forever, an endless loop of ringing and "Please wait while your call is transferred." I was so pissed. Probably going to get the block heater too and only use it at work lol. I know most dealerships use Long Radio as an approved installer for a lot of aftermarket electronics in this area, so I hope a remote starter is covered. Any info?

I believe they have an OEM remote starter for Mazda3's but for AUTOMATIC only. They don't offer it on MANUAL for safety reasons.

i love my remote start on my ms3.....well...i love all my remote start on 3 of my cars.....check out shelby cs-500s

i have it on my ms3 and I love it. In the summer time I can leave the AC on, and start the car 2-3 mins before so when I get to the car (we have a hugh parking lot) it's nice and cold. (I just leave it on one dial though)

make sure you keep your car in neutural and e-brake on though...

how exactly does the remote start work without the clutch being pressed. I thought the car would not start without the cluch being pressed in; even with it being in neutral. Some kind of mod?

You can bypass the clutch for the remote start, just have to make sure you don't leave it in gear when you park.

my remote start has a safety feature when its only activated if its in neutral and when the ebrake is set, when u pull the ebrake up it clicks and its set, when you put it down and put it in first, it automatically locks ur doors, and then when u pull the ebrake up it clicks and unlocks your doors, if ur in gear, it wont even activate

my has a very similar function as Matt. Just a note though the remote battery burn quite fast if you use the remote start all the time, but it's a very very small price to pay for the fun you get =p

This would be a problem at the track I go to. They always check for the clutch in/start safety switch during inspection...
Just an FYI

i recently got an alarm with a turbo timer and remote start. when i drove the car after installation, i noticed that everytime i stepped on the clutch about 3/4 of the way down, it would make a "clicking" sound.

i drove back to the place that did the install and i was told that there was no way to get rid of the clicking sound. apparently, it's the "relay switch." so i had them disable the remote start because it would be too annoying to hear that sound everytime i switched gears. anyway, after it was disabled, no clicking sound.

you would think they make an inaudible "relay switch" right? is the reason they gave me bs, or what??? there really is no way around it?????

CompuStar 2W900FMR...

auto start / alarm and pressure alarm / turbo timer / valet mode / remote paging system / you can set it up to lock and unlock doors / has safety feature when it only activates if your in neutral with parking brake up

does it work without the key.....i mean dont you need the key transponder

I have a Clifford 50.5x remote start/paging security system that i'm interested in installing on my MS3. I don't want that clicking bulls*** though with the relay on the clutch pedal..is that always going to happen?

I'd love to have the defrost option activate, and i'm interested to see how I can utilize the turbo timer feature. There's plenty of times i'm rushing into work and feel bad having to kill the engine as soon as I pull up. A 2 minute TT would be great to have.
