I know I am anal about my cars but I was wondering how you more normal 5 owners would react...
My one month old 5 has damage to the rockers where the dealer must have set a lift in closer together than where the lift points are. The metal seams all come together in a common seam and on mine the "taller" outside metal is rolled inward and the paint is cracked for about three inches in all 4 spots. If you have the sill extensions you won't see what I'm talking about... I'm just pissed that a prep tech could'nt take the time to slide the lift arms a few inches to where the metal is reinforced.
O well I guess not a biggy in the big picture but leaves me feeling I can't trust the dealer to do the smallest of things. I will not even go back for the free oil change.(argh)

in one oil change, dealer forgot to reinstall the 2 plastic fastener that hold's part of the plastic shield. Next oil change I brought it to attention of service advisor. He said there is no fasthener in there. So I took him to their mazda5 on display. He saw the fastener on the display vehicle, took it and put it in mine. Now, before I go for oil change, I take the fastener off for safe keeping. I also check to make sure the 7 bolts for the shield is re-installed.

I don't expect mechanics to be perfect all the time.

My 06 had some "rash" under the front bumper when I picked it up. It happened during the trailer transport trip and I did not notice during the drive test. I raised hell with the dealer's manager and I got the first service free plus they took it to the shop to fix and paint.... then the exhaust recall came (rant) and the dealer was clueless as well...

Anyway, I went with that dealer because they were the only ones with a Manual Tranny car on inventory in the area, yet first thing I did after buying my 06 was to look for a better one for the services, and I found it :D. In summary, the Mazda5s are great, but some dealers are not ;)
