Anyone had Absinthe before?

I have heard it's amazing, not the same as drunk, not the same as high, but like a blissful mix of the both of them, plus some hallucinigen(this is wormwood-ized). A firend of mine had some while on a trip accross Europe, he said after 2 shots, he was ******, but unlike drinking, he said it was the happiest drunk he ever was in his life. And he was tripping abit too.

My friend bought a $200 bottle of Absinte, from Poland (I believe), it had the wormwood and whatnot. When we drank it, yea it got us hella drunk but that was about it.

It did seem to turn my friend suspiciously

though.

absinthe with wormwood is cool. czech republic and portugal are supposed to be where you can get it with wormwood legally. I got a couple bottles in prague with my roommate from France (his dad was a baker and wanted some for "special baking"). the best way to drink it that I've found is to put sugar on a spoon douse it in absinthe and light it on fire. then take another shot of absinthe (on the side) blow out the flame (as it begins to carmelize the sugar) and "eat" what is on the spoon. its good and also a fun party trick that will get everyone's attention.

I'm running low on the fifths that I brought back (pre-9/11) so I'm going to have to go back and get some.
