anyone get the paint sealent?

they said its a good thing but im curious did anyone get the optional paint sealent for their 3 and is it shinnier or anything or does it protect better? and is it worth 300

I don't know if it's any better with or without it, but when I ordered my car it was part of what the dealer called the "Platinum Package" which included rustproofing, undercoating (I believe), paint protectection/sealant and protection. I believe the dealership put a warranty on the paint protection, but I forget for how long. Most people will say that it is just another way for the dealership to get more money from your wallet, which I tend to agree, but there are some things I'd rather not gamble with and an expensive purchase of a car is one of them.

There's nothing extraordinary about their 'paint protection'...basically a wax job with some formula that Mazda contracted out. It's not going to protect your paint from anything that a normal wax job won't. Don't give your dealer $300 for this B.S. Wax your car yourself.

Its actually some sort of sealant they put on the paint that will keep the shine forever..but dont do it at the dealers...soo expensive.. I had mine done for 120Bux CAN.

Remember though this does not make the paint better or stronger..if the 3 is like my P5 in factory paint quality...it sucks, chips and scratches easily.
