Anyone get a CEL about "intermittent cylinder misfire?"

I got this CEL (I think #3300) shortly after installing the TRZ MM. The tech at autozone said that it's probably a fouled plug or something going on in the plug wires. I have not noticed any difference in the performance or power from the engine at all.

Thoughts? Anyone else seen this? Should I go ahead and replace the plugs?

I think that code is for cylinder 3. Try switching that plug with another cylinder if the code changes change the plug. It could also be your coils or a bad injector.

Is this a recall or TSB issue? Just curious. If so, I'd be more willing to go to the stealer...uh, I mean dealership.

I had a P0300 code just this past Wednesday; while on vacation down in So. Virginia / North Carolina. Ended up taking it to a dealer in Winston-Salem. They checked the plugs but found nothing wrong. They cleared the code and it hasn't yet come back on.

I would just take it to a dealer, and more than likely they will do the same thing; check the wires/plugs, clear the code... if it doesn't come back on, send you on your way. Just make sure to get the service report/receipt for your records; my service report specifically states the CEL code. This way, if it keeps happening you at least have 'proof' of the prior instances.

BTW - If you're car is still under warranty, you shouldn't have to pay anything to check out the CEL and clear it.

Well, I can certainly understand your dilemma. Sucks to have that kind of dealership.

If you can get the CEL cleared, I wouldn't replace anything unless it throws the code again.
