Yes, now that you mention it. I was thinking more about these lines below. I know the Mazda5 is NOT a Mazda3 but it should not be that radically different...

Mazda3 2.3 on a Mustang Dyno...

That does seem like a lot of drivetrain loss for a FWD especially on a Mustang dyno. Dynos are, of course, never absolute measurements (heat, altitude, hood open/closed etc all effect the measurement). The only way to know what is going on would be to put a couple of other cars on there for comparison.

I was the first run after driving 55 miles to the shop. A guy with a Mazda 3-2.0l and an Auto beat me. So not sure about the accuracy.
