Took a drive down to the local walmart at lunch to pick up clear engine enamel and found this sitting on the shelf in the audio section.

Have never even heard of this brand before. Number one, will it fit the P5 and number two would it be better to spend a little more on a brand name head unit?

Looking at the specs and obviously the price, it seems like a great deal...thoughts and ALL opinions appreciated.

It's got alot of options for only $80...but reliability and sound quality is where it is going to fall short. Play around with all the options on the floor model, try to play some MP3 cds and what not. Since people tend to abuse the floor models at Walmart it will be a good test of how long it will last in your car.

I'd put Jensen above this brand and Dual...but I still wouldn't buy them. When it comes to electronics, I prefer not to be a guinea pig. I buy things that work and that will last me many years. I bought a Clarion head unit in 1998...its still going strong in my fiance's car. Most head units will crap out well before that...the displays stop working, the laser gets out of alignment, buttons stop working, etc...but not so with Clarion.

Never had a chance to play with the floor model as they don't have one out...hmmm. For now I will wait and try to save some $$$ because I know once I change the hu I will want new speakers. :)

Thanks for the advice chuyler. Next time I get a chance (maybe tomorrow hehe) I will have to play with the floor model. My biggest concern is reliability. I'd rather payout double for a hu that will last longer, but the price is so tempting considering all the options.

Consider Pioneer for HU. I have had two already and they rock! The one I have now I actually installed in my 3 but took it out because I didn't like the way it looked...sound was awesome thought.

I came in here expecting a hilarious picture of a Mitsubishi missing a wheel.

I am dissapointed.

haha nice.

On topic though.. I bet the stock head unit is better than that thing. For not much more than that you can get a decent low end Alpine that still does MP3 cds and stuff.

Sorry to disappoint but I couldn't find any pics of a mitsu missing a wheel. :)

I don't have any previous experience with Pioneer or Alpine, but have had luck with Kenwood and JVC. Will have to keep looking and comparing different models.

I have a VR3 amp in my MSP. When i bought the car i didn;t know it was supposed to have the kick ass kenwood amp in it so i didn;t know i was being short-changed. I have a 350w model and it has yet to burn out the stock kenwood sub. Been installed for about 6 months.

Either Kenwood made a mistake with your sub (meaning it actually works) or that amp isn't really putting out 350w. Actually, I highly doubt it is sending 350w to that sub. I think the sub is only rated for 100w anyway.

I was expecting a VW with one cylinder bank missing/dead.
