Anyone ever check this out?

just another company jumping on the short ram intake bandwagon.....probably works as well as any of the others.

"Bomz" sounds much cooler than "AEM" though. The obligatory "replace the two end letters with simply a Z" hacker lingo adds an extra 5 HP right there.

hey if your going to buy that why not get that "ECU UPGRADE" pos

I'de get one for my car but it already runs like crap

I doubt that it would be AS good - it may be beter than the fresh air box and all but AEM has history and proven results.

On the other hand you never know............this could be the company that puts AEM out of buisness..........
(even though I still doubt it)

Because the ECU upgrde is BS. This thing is the same as the ractive intake, basically. I don't see what's wrong with it.

gjmoreo - Why shouldn't it be as good as the AEM? As long as it's shaped the same...it's just a pipe, man.

This is true it is only a pipe, but I'm saying the overall quality of it. The name means nothing but the company and reliability and just the simple fact of the filter and so on says to me - "this is a better product" - as stated before.........I could be wrong though.......

Right..........that's it...........mad because something cheap is out on the market............NO.

Trust me when I say that the money is not an issue. I go for quality. The fact is in most cases you DO get what you pay for. Try going to Wal-Mart and buy all Roadgear audio and tell me how it works out for ya.........

As long as it's shaped the same...it's just a pipe, man.

Well, as long as the speakers are shaped the same......its just ..........its just........... Its just ROADGEAR!! WAL-MART!!

You get what you pay for.......(But I think I heard that Wal-mart has a good retuen policy.....;) )

wtf? audio is different, the cones are shaped differently, the materials are different etc etc etc. Intakes are just round pipes, the only determining factors are where they are bent, how big the tubing is, and what material they are made of, that is IT, speakers are much more complex in composition.

the only thing I could see making this intake a POS is if it was a 3" pipe (which is too big). 2.5" is the best size for the protege engine. otherwise, its a better deal than the AEM or injen.

So the big_ben intakes are s*** too right? b/c they aren't badged with "AEM" or "Injen"????

LOL - I know that audio is diffrent - it is a lot diffrent - I was being facetious. Just trying to use that as an example.....(it may have been a bad one)

I was just trying to make a point that in most cases you get what you pay for.......As I stated before - The name has nothing to do with it. i will pay the extra price for quality and for a company with a good and strong reputation like AEM.

Big_ben intakes are just fine I'm sure - I personally would buy his over the "bomz" any day - but Ben's intake is not a cheap ass one either so maybe again, you get what you pay for.
For the most part i would not doubt if the "bomz" intake is a good buy for its price but again, for me I would rather play my chances with a better know name as most people do, hence the reason they are so well know.

define "cheap ass". I'm saying cheap in price, aka better deal. I'm pretty sure his intake is some exhaust tubing bent to fit, with some home-depot clamps and powder coated with whatever color, and a K&N filter.

how is that "better in quality" than a bomz which uses simliar materials (minus the filter, but even cheap filters flow more than enough air than you'd ever use)

Good lord guys..., ok for one i ordered a rear strut bar off ebay awhile ago and when it came in it was bomz racing. It was very good quality and not cheaply made. It was also fully adjustable unlike other models made for the probe. Bomz maybe a no name brand but its just a damn strut bar just like this is a damn intake. Your getting pipe, clamps and a filter. If the pipe designs are similar, and theres a filter on the end of it then brand doesnt matter. Intakes only give a few hp and minimal changes between brands (if any) will yield tiny tiny results. If it was me buying one id say go for the cheaper on just cause its cheaper, if it doesnt work then hey you didnt spend much and you still have plenty of money to go out and buy that more expenxive "proven" one. In the end though its still only an intake. Its not like its a differnt turbo kit.

Its just like the warranty on the box thing in tommy boy, you can stick your head up a bulls ass or take the butchers word for it.

If it were cams or pistons or something more critical on a car id go for the name brand though. Just like wheels, id never buy s*** wheels or tires u get what u pay for with something like that but an intake, nah, as long as its cold air and the same basic design, it should yield the same type of results.
