You have no clue what you just started.

Guess not! Looks like asked the right question of the right person! ;)

Thanks for all the info - that was a cool read. And your Corro is very nice indeed.

86-88 Nissan 200SX hatchback (can you tell I like hatchbacks?)
The most overlooked drift machine! I really wanted one of these, especially the 200SX SE which used the 3.0L 160 HP engine from the 300ZX, the independent rear suspension, and the rear disc brakes. This example is really nice. If the damn things weren't so hard to find, I might be climbing in one now! [/B]

You nailed this one, bro. In high school my best friend had one of these, and I don't ever really remember the car actually pointing straight down the road. His was the turbo, and I don't remember anything except for "RREEVVVVVV>........lag..PULL!!!! Probably not the fastest turbo out there, especially by todays standards, but DAMN that was a fun ride.

Man, I miss my Rear Wheel Drive.

There just aren't enough RWD cars on the market today. I'm not about to pay the price for a Bimmer so what choices does that leave?

Anyone that says RWD is bad in the snow just doesn't know how to drive. Up until my new P5, I have driven all RWD cars and never had a problem with New England and upstate NY weather. Just fill the gas tank and put a few subwoofers in the trunk and you're good to go.

wow, i cant believe this thread got such a response...if i had the money, id buy my friends corrado in a second, its such a sweet and original machine, almost no one has one around here and he has hte VR6 so it hauls and its lowered with all new suspension bits so its got the moves too.

oi

Well If I had the money to do everything I wanted to one then I would buy another otherwise It would be torture owning a stock one. Plus for anyone who is interested in the Corrado... BE CAREFUL they have their little quirks and problems but they are pretty well documented. Even mine had it's problems. The VR6s are not as bad as the G60s but it takes more money to mod a vr6

84-85 RX-7 GSL
Stronger 1.3L motor, nicer interior, rear disk brakes. Nice car all around.

ah my friend... it is the GSL-SE that you are talking about, not the GSL...

I should know... that's what I came in here to post about :)

here's my baby.

I also want a Sy/Ty, 89 turbo T/A, 323 GTX, All-Trac, and a bunch of other 80/90's toys.... Happens when you grow up in that era I guess.

Ahhh, thanks for the correction! I knew that, but must have had a brain fade during my post. Happens all the time. :)
Nice looking 7 by the way! Any more pics?

I think of the 80s as a grim decade for cars, I just kinda skip over it altogether.

Damn Jim thats a nice Dub. Ilove the older GTIs or Rabbit GTI. How about this one. I would love to have a 16v 91 GTI. Or if I could have my way I would do a Golf G60 Synchro. I have driven one back when I lived in Germany and all I have to say is with a few suspension Mods this thing would make a stock Corrado G60 look stupid. That hurts to say but I love these cars.

FuNwaGon,
Alas, I parted with my 84 GTI for an 89 16V GTI which was not a well put together machine. Many probs. I test drove a V6 Corrado in the early 90's and wished I'd purchased that. I've gone Mazda due to the higher quality of Japanese built machines over Mexican made VW's. No offense to our neighbors south of the border. I eagerly await the 25 year anniversary GTI that's coming out. I've seen it on Motor Week and it's retrofitted to look like the 83-84 GTI's coming in white, black, silver, and possibly red. Oh well.

I've also got several more on my webpage... (see sig)

Now all I need is that turbo (going to see a guy about that part tonight ;) )

Hell yeah Jim I hear that. Main reason I actually didn't buy a new volkswagon. Final assembly is in Brazil...uhhhh I don't think so. The GTI's and Passats are supposed to be 100% all German though. And I too can't wait for the anniverary gti. A friend has the one that just came out this past year with the BBS STOCK Came in silver. It's like the 237 or something. Having a brain fart right now and can't think. But have you seen the new R32. WOW it makes me wanna go dubbing all over again.

FunMeister,
Assembly of the GTI may still be south of the border, no? Yes, I've seen the 337 up close and i'm impressed. Can't wait for the anniversary gti, though. R32, yup. read about that one. AWD is off the hook. However, the knock is that it too closely resembles the normal Golf's w/recaro type seats. I salivate about the VWs - although the 1.8T is their best mod type engine.
