Anyone else having this prob????

Ok well my mp3 is in the shop getting it's shifer fork replaced, 2 to 4 week down time. Their excuse is I was shifting too fast and too hard. This is a way lame excuse and I don't believe it for one second. I had a problem from the start as most of my miss shifts would be from 1st to second.

Most of my friends cars ( other then a mazda) dont' have this problem the are mis shifting 2nd to 3rd.

Now any of you have this grinding from 1st to 2nd on quick shifts?

Yeah,

I do sometimes. I double clutch by habit now most of the time, and this happens less.

it happens to me alot i thought it was because i let the clutch out to fast. i also find it hard to get into second from first. I am also having a grinding from second to third mazda has a new gear sycroniser on the way for me now.

I had the grinding from second to third for a while. It just suddenly started up one day, stayed for a couple days, and then just as quickly it went away. Pretty weird.

As for first to second, it does stick a little bit for mine... but no grinding or anything

well unfortunatley, with most import cars, if you try to shift out of first when at redline, you will scratch second. happens on most cars without any work done to the clutch. shift right before redline when going into 2nd, and you should be fine.

I shift just before I hit the rev-limiter. I haven't had a prob getting from first to second. I occasionally miss a shift b/c I let off the clutch too soon. But it's a rare occasion.
