I'm about to venture into swapping my engine myself. Anyone done this on here yet? Anyone know where I can get a book or writeup so I don't mess anything up too bad? I hope it isn't too horrible! Anyone in the Columbus, GA area is more than welcome to offer advice/assistance.(smash)

Haynes manual will talk you all the way through it...

I did one on my isuzu with no manual. its really not as daunting as it sounds. Disconnect fuel lines, electrical connections, axels, and accessories... pull the mounts and its basically done. just bag and tag all your fasteners... its a real b**** guessing what goes where.

Make a weekend of it if its your first time, have a larger friend help if possible. the 2nd time I pulled it I did it alone, not too bad, just takes longer. I don't know that I'd want to do an install myself though.

I thought about doing this myself as well with a replacement stock engine after I blew mine. But I saw what the guys at the shop had to do to get mine out and I'm glad I didn't. The engine and trans come out together and are attached to a front subframe which I believe are also attached to the suspension. They pulled the front fascia, radiator, hood, half-shafts, struts, and steering rack and they also disconnected the lower control arms from the knuckles. Not impossible to get done in a day or two, but make sure you keep track of everything (bag and tag).

What are you putting in it?
