Anyone cut stock springs?

You guys are looking way too far into all this! Lowering any vehicle will change the suspension geometry from it's original plan but it also lowers the center of gravity changing the way the geometry is applied. The stock springs have tighter coils at each end and to drop a 1/2" or whatever will have little effect on the spring rates and ride.

Adding a sunroof to a car would have more negative effects!

that was my point though. Anything you change in the suspension geometry will affect it somehow.

Well, sorry to disappoint you. But, I found out Eibach springs are a little lower in the front. I ordered them. I am in no way admitting there is anything wrong with cutting the stock springs. If it still doesn't look right, I'll cut the Eibachs! I'll still post pics if you are interested.

C'mon, all kidding & ribbing aside. Don't waste the Eibachs! Keep them the way they are. Cut the stockers and then make a pro/con comparison between the two. After all the replies...I'd hope you wouldn't disappoint us like this.

My parts have arrived. I won't be long now.

car is going to sit more or less like this
DSCI0359.jpg

this setup is perfect for me. Removed majority of wheel gap, but isnt rough enough to completely annoy the hell out of me on long trips.

Note that this is on a driveway, so the front does like higher than it actually sits.

put some teins on the front haha it lowerd the hell out of my front end

QFMFT

My Tein S-Techs dropped the front low enough for me...plus the DG lip just sets it off.
As for the rear...I am just about tucking the tires on my 17s *there's a little space*. And when ppl get in the backseat...I rub, so I know I don't need to cut s***.

Do you realistically need to be any lower than that?

NCZ13, what size wheels do you have? I have 17s and was hoping the front would look lower than that. If not, I'll be getting out the cutting blade.

JDM-P5, that is about where I want it. It is almost too low. My springs are only a 1" dop in the rear and 1.2" in the front.
