So I took a knick in the front pillar next to the windshield. Right to the primer. Anyone else had to repair one of these yet?

Looks like i might need more of this stuff.. http://www.langka.com/

They should carry it. Just wondering how much of a hassle it was to get it. I had to give them a part number for the mineral grey on my mustang, otherwise they looked at me like a monkey trying to read a road map.

Be very careful when ordering. Somehow Mazda has messed up the parts books for the MS6 and the part numbers contradict each other in some cases. My parts guy tried to order me a bottle of Black Cherry and ended up ordering 2 different bottles because the book was so unclear. When they arrived, we double-checked the book and the bottle that the book says is Black Cherry turned out to be some kind of bluish-gray color, while the non-matching part # turned out to be Black Cherry. Definitely open it up and brush some onto a white piece of paper to ensure you have the right color.

Well first one is free and I would suggest on obtaining this item. This item should have been included when you drove the car off the lot.

Uhm, I never noticed a tube of it? Where was yours hiding?

BlackCherry, thanks, those were the kinda concerns I had. I wouldn't just apply it anyway with out checking first, but I'd be pissed if I got it home before realizing it, lol

Nowhere...I got one when I purchased my 04 M3 and it was in my glove box. But when I was walking out from the deal on the MS3 I asked about it and they just handed it to me.

Man I have a few chips here and there on the front end from road debris but I cant imagine goign around to all of those and touching them up because its going to happen no matter what you do.

That product does look like a good idea and I did buy a bottle of OEM paint but it looks like s*** no matter how I try to use it. This product might be the key to making it work.

If I get any that are bad enough I will look into buying this and give it a go.

How does it work and is it a temporary thing or does it stay on the paint?

If you ever need a spray can of your color, look here:

http://www.paintscratch.com/

They custom mix the colors to match the stock paint codes and if you buy the kit, they give you the appropriate primer and clear coat to match. I've used them before with pretty good results. It looks like they have all of the mazdaspeed color codes too...

it will fill in the chip for years. the only other method is touching it up, sanding and polishing. langka doesn't work very well for metallic paints because the metallic rises to the top and when you use the blending solution that takes the blob off, it takes the metallic with it. i think i'm going to try dr. color chip for my sunlight silver car... its the same basic idea but they mix their own paint and the metallic is supposed to stay in the paint.

Most paint shops should be able to mix up some color just using the color code.

Black Pearl 16W
Sunlight Silver 22V
Cosmic Blue(FTW) 34M
True Red A4A

I ordered a bottle of touch up paint from my local dealer and gave him my VIN# to be sure he got the right color.

The part number for True Red: 0000-88-0154-TR

Cost me like $5.12 for the bottle.

The langka? Basically you blob on the paint so that it goes above the paint chip. From there you apply the langka as required, then wipe it off. It leaves the chip perfectly filled with touch up paint.

Seems like I could have just applied the touch up paint with a small tooth pick or brush then run a credit card over it like they use in their kit. I will try that method and see if it works any better. I just never thought of doing it that way but I imagine the credit card will clear off the excess and leave the chip filled.

Hey whitey4311 let me know how your idea turns out.

Hey CT have u used the Langka kit before?

I had a sample of it for my mustang. Worked as advertised, although you can tell it doesnt have clear on it. Clear nail polish might fix that but what ever, looks better than chipped paint.
