Anybody have Vibrant Exhaust?

I guess I'll add my two cents since I am one of the guys running this the longest. I got it in the first group buy and it is still my favorite mod to date. Compared to other exhausts I have experience with it doesnt drone nearly what they do. With the silencer it is louder than stock, but not by much. Last night I had the cat removed and an electronic cutout put in, now it is loud and drones for sure, but only when I want it too with the push of a button. I am in the process of making a video of the differences, should be fun, and I'll be sure to post it up for others to check it out.

its alot louder than stock. i dont know how annnyyone can say theirs sounds just like stock. going from 1.75" piping to 3" is def gonna make a difference. it doesnt drone too bad inside unless you have the silencer out. but even with the silencer in it bothered me on a long trip. this was after 10 or so hrs on boring interstate tho so it just got old.

the sound is sooo much better than stock. it has that nice pur to it and just sounds awesome when youre drivin hard

By not so much louder than stock, does that mean a good cell phone conversation or able to hear the music at volume 10 or lower???? (ughdance)

I can carry a conversation even without the silencer, and i use hands free, but yes music and phone are easy to listen to with silencer in. Even my wife was fine after a drive to Orlando from Atlanta in the car... and that is saying alot!

And yes the corksport does bolt up to the vibrant but I didnt notice anything from it, you might see a couple HP on the dyno, but nothing you can feel and mine broke even with mounts and flexpipe. Now I am sending a stock s pipe to Extrude Hone and I am certain to see the same if not better results than the aftermarket s-pipes.

I have had this exhaust for almost a year. I have kept the silencer in since I bought it. The sound is awesome, but it is much louder than stock. I'm going to install a sound deadening kit to help kill that and road noise. It's only bothersome on those 6+ hour trips, my ears end up hurting from that plus the turned up tunes.

Yeah, mine's rarely loud enough to interfere with my phone conversations, and only on a handsfree. It does interfere with my music listening at times, but I'm really into the SQ of my music.

Mine is at its loudest (and booming enough to be irritating to me) when I'm off the gas and engine braking on a long downhill grade anywhere near 3k rpms. With the many hills around here, that's more often than I'd like. I find myself throwing it in the next higher gear or in neutral and just using the brakes when going downhill in my subdivision late at night out of respect for my neighbors. When my fiancee is on our back deck at night, she can hear me coming about 3/8 mi. away or so.

Mine also seems loud when under certain throttle/load/rpm situations in 1st through 3rd gears. Usually light throttle, medium load (uphill) and also in that 2.5k-3.5k rpm range seems to do it. As soon as I hit 4th, it's fine. On the highway at 70-80 mph is tolerable if the terrain is pretty flat, but even then it can wear on me after the first hour or so.

Would I still recommend it? Hell yeah. It's a great product. And it could be that mine is just a hair louder than most for some reason, like QC variations in the mufflers. I don't think it's just my ears though, when my fiancee, friends, family and neighbors all comment that it's fairly loud. What's ironic is that when I was standing about 20 ft. behind my car during my dyno pulls, it didn't seem all that loud. It's a lot like my Trans Am...it's only under certain conditions that it gets that booming going.

Is it possible with any of these exaust systems to keep the stock tip? I want to replace the exaust system but I dont want the muffle/exaust tip combos of the systems like the vibrant.. I was thinking about an enlarged midpipe (probably with 1 hi-flo cat or none) and an electronic exaust dump. Are there any good exaust systems that either have the same oval design or allow me to keep stock oval tip?

With nearly any exhaust system u could have the guy putting it on weld the stock tip on. Although with one like the vibrant where the tip and muffler are one piece it wouldn't be possible. If you wanted to just get a downpipe and an electric cutout, u could keep the stock catback system to keep it quiet when you wanted and open the cutout for power/noise.

If you are worried about noise, go with a downpipe that has a single high-flow cat replacement. You'll get a little less performance than with the full exhaust, but the benefits of a single high-flow cat. The noise will be kept down too, and not to mention its a lot cheaper.

I think ONRAILS had a custom 3" j-pipe back exhaust made with the stock muffler welded on. It looked pretty sharp. Send him a PM and ask him about it.

Oh yeah, I wanted to add that there's one more nice thing about the Vibrant exhaust. When at light throttle & low rpms, the exhaust usually gives a killer burble/snort/snarl when I lift off the gas. It does it in a mean, but yet low-key sort of way that turns heads without sounding "ricer". It's hard to describe, but is one more reason why I'd recommend the Vibrant.

agreed, you can also get it by coasting down a gradient in 1st for the entire length of the hill, lots of fun nad sounds killer.

I replaced the muffler on mine with one of their stealth mufflers and the noise reduced significantly IMO. Here are some pics of what it looks like now.

Not to thread jack (the vibrant is very nice) but with my GHL I was worried about the noise of the straight through muffler and thus far it has proven to be whisper quiet. I do have a highflow cat and a resonator.
Good day -o- Vibrators! (glare)

the vibrant does make a popping noise sometimes which is backfire. i agree with mr. diggler about teh noise he is referring to. it sounds mean as hell.

No, the backfires are completely different. You'll know when it happens, lol.

Brum, burble-burble...ka-POW!!!

It's not that often though.

yea i know when it backfires. i can make it kinda pop/backfire on command but then sometimes after a shift itll do it on its own reallllyy loud. but yea i know the sound youre talkin about when deceling in gear at low rpms.
