No offense Pirana, but I'm going to give a 35-year-old's opinion on the noise level. IMHO, yes, it's loud. Not loud like my 462 c.i. '79 Trans Am (the Vibrant doesn't set off car alarms a block away), but I think it's loud, even with the silencer. One reason I bought the Vibrant is all the posts about "oh, it's not loud at all... it doesn't drone a bit...". Yeah, right. I recently took a 14 hour round trip in the MSP with my fiancee, and she's all but decided never to take another long trip in it. It does drone. Maybe not like some other exhaust systems, but it's still way louder than stock, and it gets pretty damn old after a few hours of wanting to listen to your tunes less than cranked up, or wanting to have a quality cell conversation on your bluetooth headset, but can't.
Am I bitching? Not really. The quality of the sound is really good, and better than what I heard on the sound clips peeps were kind enough to post. The quality of the product is very good to excellent. The pops and backfires are kinda cool now that I'm used to them.
I still wish it were just a few db quieter. In my neck of the woods, the Trans Am rattling the neighbors windows on startup gets smiles and respect. The MSP gets a lot of looks that say "stupid ricer". I know it's not fair, just the way it is around here. It's not that we're all Nascar-loving rednecks, just that imports still take a back burner to muscle cars and *cough* Harleys...even with the cops.
I just don't want anyone else to buy this exhaust thinking it's some super stealth, fly under the radar, never notice it on trips kind of system, because it's not. Buy it while you can get it because it's a great exhaust, should last a lifetime and makes proven hp, not because it's quiet, lol!!!
