Anybody else put speakers in rear deck?

Do you want an honest opinion? You have very nice gear in a ghetto looking installation. If you are happy with it I guess that is all that matters, but I think you would have been much happier with a nice set of components up front and not having a hacked apart rear deck. This isnt an 83 Cutlass, you don't need as many 6x9's as you can fit in it. There are two things to consider when putting in a stereo, sound and looks. Some systems focus on one or the other or both, but right now I would say you have neither.
I'm not saying I am the best at this stuff either, If I had pictures of some of my first installations, they were complete hack jobs. As long as they get better, then you are learning an thats a good thing.

... and any speaker that is not round distorts the sounds. Picture the rock dropped in the pond. Circles spreading out.

circles.

6x9s are for old cars with narrow decks[.]

I had 4x10 speakers in my 72' Impala. Bleah!

x11ty billion on both of these.

no room for groceries? :O

it has just enough room for me to lay my 46" Longboard (skateboard, not surf lol) down across the back. groceries? maybe a bachelors trip to the convenience store, which would be me.

ive thought about putting speakers in the deck before, but i would have to fabricate some boxes for them to hang down into. i cant stand the look of bare speakers. plus, i would think that after a while the deck would lose its shape and start to bow down under the weight. i know the deck on my MX-3 is all "bent outta shape." but itd be cool to fabricate some kind of fiberglass or carbon fiber rear deck w/ a built in box for 2 10" subs. paint it body color and all. nice...(scratch)

Here are a couple snaps of mine, or how it was until I moved all my equipment to the truck. One with and without groceries :) Thats the biggest problem with cutting stock panels.. what happens if you ever want to go back to stock?
