mine is almost complete! we just had our house built a few weeks ago, so i have a few more little things to do yet.still to do-build columns, build masking system, and hang the velvet curtains along the top and either side.
i keep mine on widescreen so screen size is a little over 6feet tall by 9feet wide. in second pic screen is about 8x9(4.3 full screen)thats for cable and video games! i was just curious if anybody else on the site had a nice setup?

well you can just kiss my big white ass w/ your home theater room......

but looks great (2thumbs) :D

that reminds me, i just got a 34" toshiba hdtv over the weekend at sears, got a $1,200 tv for $839 due to someone buying it and returning it.

i still got the factory warranty and a warranty from sears, same warranties as a brand new unopened tv. i fuggin love gran turismo 4 more then ever now.

1080dpi is the best thing in the world.

You should get a perforated screen and mount the center channel behind it. The curtains would be a nice touch to deading the reverb in the room. Looks like the upstairs to a barn.

No 7.1 surround? You need some speakers on the back walls.

My old theatre room was a billiards/theater room..the new house which we close on this month will have a dedicated theatre room with all the right coloring and lighitng ;)

this is my current setup..

This is an old picture of the DVD slides...the shelves are now almost completely full...I have an addiction to movies...

Is that all custom built? It looks nice.

All custome built by myself and my father in law and uncle..took us 48 hours to build it and another 48hours to sand the damned thing and finish it :)

Is it coming with you to the new house? It doesn't look like something I would want to move.

our house has 4 bedrooms, and a bonus room. so we had opted to use the bonus room as our dedicated theater room. by code each room has to have a window, and that room was the only one where the window placement was perfect to cover with screen.so the slanted ceiling isnt that big of a deal.
i will have 2 more rear surrounds, and a rear center shortly.as i said we just had it built so i need to save some moola for other things, plus those cables will be easy to fish out later. so for now the 5 speakers and sub is good enuff(rocks the house now).
i wanted to keep my budget under 4,000, so i couldnt get all the best equipment(amps, preamps, electric screen, fat daddy remote)
i have a infocus x1 projector=$680
denon 2105 theater reciever=$650
denon dvd player=$160
elite 120" screen=$135
polk audio euro t90e floor speakers=$350
polk audio fxi5 surround speakers=$450
polk audio csi5 center channel=$350
polk audio psw 404 subwoofer=$350
all over priced speaker,coax,optical cables=$200
skybox vending machine=$400
2 matching fake leather couch's and bean bag foot rest=$350
this thing rocks, no rainbows or noticable screen door effect.
im setting about 13 feet back from screen.even playing split screen games you still have 3-4 feet of screen apiece. any body in the area can come check it out if want, watch a scary movie its awsome. i can take the projector out side and shine it on the side of our house and have 20 foot screen, and set up lawn chairs for drive in parties.here is a pic of the custom spiderman panel i made of the skybox, looks awsome lit up. we got a consession stand stocked with candy beside it.

Yep its making the migration to the new place..it is a heavy mofo though..almost all Oak so it weights a s*** load, but there is no way Im getting rid of it ;)

Im not planning on buying any new equipment for the new place..I could use an audio upgrade for the main unit..only have 5.1 right now, but Im going to run speaker wire for an 7.1 system so when I do switch out I can easily add the speakers without needing to do any more work :) Im really glad that with the new place I get to do whatever I want..I am definitely buidling in a walking space behine the TV so I can get to all the equipment easily as is right now I have to pull the TV out to get behind everything and its a tight fit. Im leaving plenty of room next time, of course its going to be like years before I get it finished. :(

Nice work, B. Looks good, and I am sure it sounds great, too. Denon is the way to go with 7.1. Not as big, but our set up is nice here, too. Loud as all hell.

awesome.... looks like I need to stop modding my car and saving $ for this s***. Something everyone can enjoy.

cheaper than might be expected. you can get a decent projector for 6-$800 bucks, and screen for under $150. its hard to get a decent bigscreen thats big and bulky for under $2,000. plus you can take it to friends house, and shine it up on a blank wall!dvd, vcr, computer, camera, cable, xbox, playstation!
