I did all four of mine in white. It's not too hard if you know what to look for. There is a little hole on the bottom of the handle housing where the end of the spring sticks into. Then, the other end is connected to the handle itself, thus giving it tension. The key is that once you get the two together, you have to hold it tight or else it wants to pop back out because of the spring tension. Then just slide the retaining rod back into it's location.
