Im looking to get a co2 sprayer for the factory intercooler... i was just wondering if any1 in here has installed one and if so are the performance gains worth the time and money??(I know the ultimate answer is to get a FMIC, but my pockets are a little shallow as New Jersey is raping me for insurance!!)

it works..
.I have a setup on my z28 that will spray n2o or co2 over the intercooler......and you can tell when you hose it down......my IAT's drop from 112deg to 68 on a warm day..and the car pulls nice and crisp....Im going to do the same setup on my GF's MSP

they add power. you can make your own, you just need co2 bottle and hi presure soleniod. im made mine just have not installed it.

ebay get your aluminum tanks cheap and nitrous line.

a sprayer on a FMIC will be kick ass, they did a dyno on a wrx with FMIC and was a 15 hp difference. i am also making a fuel rail that i can spray too to chill my fuel.

go for it! looks kick ass too.

cool..thanx for tha backfeed...also..where can u get a co2 bottle filled and is it expensive??

I think even walmart has CO2 for paintball gun refills.
Its not expensive.

i saw an EVO that has those stock. If we install our own, do we just use it when we are driving hard? or does it go on automatically?

you can get a pressure switch to come on automatically with a certain psi of boost. intercoolertechniques.com

Depends on what breaks. A dealer could make that argument with a clutch/trany/motor issue.

do you say that meaning: That the horsepower gain hurt the tranny, clutch or motor?
'
they have to prove whatever you did made the breakage. youll be fine its just a IC cooler. wow... but when you have a car and you boost might as well kiss your warranty bye bye... hehe.
once the mods begin its all over. lol

I mean if you ad power toi the car then if you have a tranny / clutch problem the dealership could blaim the spray. They could even make a good case in court. Now claiming the motor was hurt by it is also possilbe as the air temp sensor is long before the intercooler ( I think :D) so the car has no way of adding fuel to compensate.

Again it won't actualy casue any damage but it is grounds to void the warrenty if the dealer so chooses. So just take the damn thing off before you go into service.

or they will probobly think the co2 bottle is nitrous and they would freak because the mazda techs are dumb.

Hmmm

Interesting...I want to do this.

Does anyone know which parts exactly I need to do this?
I already have a nitrous line and a small bottle.
Which selenoid, sprayer, activator switch I need...?

I use a momentary switch .......

my setup

...n2o bottle.....ebay $70

.....one n2o noid....$35

-4 n2o line 4 feet... $20
-4 bottle feed line $40

some wire and a switch from radio shack.....$7

and because I dont rig my stuff...... a relay ...$15

...... came in just at under $200 bucks for an easy 30rwhp on my z28
