Any way to get the short shifter back to the way it was?

I hate slamming it into gear cause I'm always scared that I'm breaking something eventually!

Yeah I am thinking the same thing, and it'd be worse with the kartboy bushings and any shifter. Granted it's just what I think, but w/o the soft rubber bushings absorbing the hard shifts the force is tranferred to the shift forks inside the tranny. I know RWD cars have this problem, but dunno much about the FWD.

nah...stock yes, i would be worried, but not with an aftermarket shifter...

You've also got the stock shift forks. Which aren't that strong.
