my cat has been loosing alot of hair on his belly and hind legs recently and he hasnt been acting sick. any ideas? we'll be taking him to a vet on monday

could be related to a poor diet. i wouldn't hypothesize about what might be wrong with the cat though until you go to the vet, otherwise you're just gonna stress yourself out

We have a kitty with the same issues, could be two things. First and most probable is allergies. Quick fix is a steroid shot. This time of year, that's highly likely. The other option is boredom which leads to obsessive licking. We think his is our kittty's problem and so far we haven't found a good fix. My vet is a good, old friend of mine, and this is his assessment.
