2003 MazdaSpeed
I have had my MSP since last saturday and I have noticed a few things. I have a little pull to the left (getting it aligned monday at Mazda) while in boost I hear a metallic vibrating sound once in a while (maybe something loose?) and finally, while driving at night with the AC on, I notice the lights slighty dim now and then. Maybe im picky but I just want it to be right. anyone else notice any of these problems?

Pull: My car pulls to the left sometimes and it pulls to the right sometimes even on the same road/same tires/everything. I dunno.

Vibrating: I'm just now getting a vibrating sound. Sounds like a piece of metal is hitting another like a cover of some kind. It only does it when I'm getting on it and the first time I heard it, I thought it was detonation but checked the plugs and all is well. I dunno.

Dimming lights: Even my Mom's LX does this. I changed my battery to a Sears DieHard Gold series and they haven't dimmed since.

I am getting the same dimming, and notice throughout the whole electrical system. Meaning when the light dim, I loose a fraction of the power like the fuel pump is freaking out.

I get the result with ac on, ac off, stereo off, everything off. Dealership told me they could not reproduce it, so they fixed it. Night I picked it up on my way home, there it was doing it again.

I read on a few other post, that people have swapped out there battery and it fixed it. So that is what I am doing this weekend, and I would recommend the same if you do not want it to do it.

t3ase, That sounds like the exact same sound im getting. I am running everything stock still so I hope its not detonation. To me it sounds like the heatshield around the turbo is vibrating maybe? I would like to get it fixed if I could. Stuff a little fiberglass down in it or something(werd)

does this vibrating sound only seem to happen when the car is hot.... say after youve been running it for 20 minutes down the highway and then when you stop and the car idles back down you hear it? only hot tho..... East coast toyota mazda is telling me that its my injen cai.... i wanted to pull the service guy over the counter.... he also told me that there is no ecu flash, the subwoofer that they ordered me was "defective", theyd need to order my bumper and paint it to match because the double sided tape came loose in the rear (i dont understand that one) and theres no need to chang the alarm brain for it keeping the parking lights on because it shouldnt happen again after they reset it.... anyone in jersey like their service dept.... maby somewhere where the techs got Mazdaspeed training...?

the vibration sound is most likely the catalytic convertor heat shield. Mine does it too.

when i bought my car at East Coast, my salesman asked the tech guy, are there any mazdaspeed parts for the MSP, and the guy showed the mazdaspeed parts, my sales guy was like, uh, he already has tho, its the MSP, tech was like, uh...right.

It doesnt happen when im idling down, only when im accelerating under boost, and it does it hot or cold, just not everytime. ps no CAI yet
