what's up guys, i skated for YEARS and i'm looking to get back into it. only problem is i'm 19 now and although it doesn't sound that old, i'm questioning whether i missed the bus, i was good when i skated but the other day i picked up a friend's little bro's board and it felt awesome, even though i could barely do basic tricks. anyone think i'm too old? s*** i guess the point is does anyone still skate and need someone to skate with? if so, any good spots around south florida here?

i'm sure this is gonna get close because it's off topic but it is south florida and uh, we could meet somewhere with the MSP's and skate AND disguss mods! yeah..

Nah it's not too late man... I am 26 now and got back into it a couple years ago after a few years off. It will take awhile to get the full feel and timing back, but it WILL come back. Good luck man, and enjoy it.

yeah of this i'm aware lol. i dunno i used to skate for peter glenn and K2 (rollerblading) for a couple years, i mean i skated for a long time, but i was never super good at skateboarding, my question to myself is whether 19 is too old. some people ar elike pPPSSHH haha 19 is perfect, and others say well it's a bit late. i dunno

i would be down even though I suck at skateboarding but, I can throw a frisbree like a mofo! ha ha

think about it for a minute and then tell me how many pro skaters are in their 20's and 30's- most of them

I'm about to turn 28 in July and I skate with my best friend who is in his 30s. We've been skating for 20 years and I will continue to skate until I physically can't do it anymore.

I wish I could get back into it, but my body is racked from about 15+ years of contact and otherwise physically demanding sports.

I had the terrible misfortune of snapping my leg when I was 9, damaging the growth plates and ligaments, and having it misdiagnosed as a sprained ankle by an incopetent doctor. So now my right leg is about an inch shorter then my left. But since it's been that way for so long, I don't have any limp. Instead, I have a bad knee and a curved spine.

I played hockey when I was a kid, then moved to Florida and started doing the aggressive inline thing. Then got bored with that and picked up a skateboard. But after years of pulled tendons, a sore knee, and a back that hurts when I wake up in the morning, I decide to call it quits. I still have all my gear, and I always tell myself that one of these days I'm going to get back into it, but then I realize that I've been through enough pain. So I just drive cars now.

That and I've let myself get really out of shape.

Basically if you body can handle it do it. I used to skate but then I went to school in the mountains so I picked up snow boarding for bout 8 years and now I'm in the ATL so I am picking up wake boarding.

The trend is that the surface I am landing on is getting a whole lot more forgiving as I am getting older.

I used to skate everyday until I had my car.... I used to have a kickass
skatepark in my basement with a drop-in, double 6' halfpipe, 2 fun boxes,
wall ride ramp, kicker, and a ton of misc. rails.
man, those were the good days.

Now all that's left are a few rails and about 500lbs. of wood that I've
moved to the garage.

I'm with neoturner on this one... I'm more focused on wakeboarding at
moment. no more scars from one mistake.
But then again, chicks dig scars.

I'm fixing to rebuild everything at my lakehouse so I'll be wake + skateboarding
every weekend for the rest of the year.

It's never too late to get back into the game.

i'v always liked skateboarding since i was 5, but i was never good at it...i gave it up long time ago...but everytime i see a board somewhere i always do the only trick i learned, the ollie...sad, isn't it??

wish i could start skating again..i mean..skateboards are relatively ship...i even have a set of axels, just need a board....i ain't afraid of busting my balls on a rail

Seems like wakeboarding is everyone's skateboard replacement. Unfortunately, I sucked at wakeboarding all 3 times I tried it. But I did take up surfing and still do that when I have the time/waves.
