Any pics of a P5 with chrome mirror covers??

Hello! I am new on this forum... I just got a red 2002 Protege 5 for $3700 (cabpatch) in great condition! is a bit high on mileage though, 142k.... but runs and looks great!

The only issue is that the paint in the mirrors is faded and ugly, the same happened on the door handles. I was wondering if I could buy some mirror covers designed for the protege that I just found on ebay:

I usually HATE chrome accessories... I know they are the opposite of "sporty" but MAYBE I can use them to cover the bad paint right on those areas... just a bit of chrome... is not like to install chrome door pillars (blarf) or something right?? lol

I have heard of at least one person with the M3 mirrors but I would look into it more if you wanted to put the work into it. As to the handles just get the touch up paint for that red and you should be able to match it close enough.

Those are rice! Look cheap as hell... And you get what you pay for.

If I were you, I would just re-paint the mirrors you have now. I don't think any chrome covers you find will look tasteful at all. Just my .02

If you need it done cheap, just DIY paint them black, you could do the same for the handles...

Is it just the red that has faded differently or did the car get re-painted. Hail damage does not pay to repaint plastic parts, thats one way to tell if a car has been re-sprayed usually. The front and rear bumper will be faded red while the rest of the car looks brand new.

Ya I wouldn't do the handles personally, don't think it would look good at all. I would rather have a little bit of faded paint then look like a matchbox car. Reminds me of all the rice Civics around with all their door handles and anything they can get their hands on painted accent colors. But to each their own!

I absolutely agree, Since I ma not planning on keeping the car for too long, I guess I'll just buy "car spray paint" like duplicolor or something like that, just for the door handle and the mirror covers if I find a matching color...
